Same with my 7 year old, and he knows the importance of the seat belt. The only issue is when he bends forward to get a better view, the left ORVM is blocked and he has to be continuously reminded to sit back.

Re: 2014 Mahindra Scorpio Facelift (W105). EDIT: Now launched at Rs. 7.98 lakhs

I liked the new Scorpio S10 model. But my Garage can fit only 6 feet high with a cross beam reducing the vehicle height. Hard luck I may have to go back to buying XUVw4.

Ha Ha We have exactly the same situation. But now he has learnt with experience. The moment he notices I am about to reverse or am about to be in a situation to look at the left rear view mirror, he leans back.

Technical pics-

Suspension Set up- Old and New

Note the following-

The new Kingpin design is different (shorter) hence the upper ball joint will last longer (long lobe will act as a lever and fulcrum and exert bigger forces on the ball joint).

The Spring is on the damper bolted to the chassis

Damper code still says W105

Spring and Panhard gap on the rear-

The gap in the new coil and Panhard rod is about 1-2 inches and my earlier apprehensions on upsize tyre fouling. The new 17 inch is the biggest that can fit in the current available standard sizes.

Thanks for the posting the first pic of S4 variant. Any luck on some more interior pics as i could see the chrome surround is missing from AC Vents and the Music System provision looks like will allow only a Single DIN Setup

How is the Leg room in S4 Variant ?

I am sure the legroom wouldn't be different between the S4 and other variants. Did you mean the legroom difference between the 7/8 seater variants?

If the damper is offset (couldn't make out from the pictures), then there is a likelihood that the same suspension setup will be used for both 2WD and 4WD. Is it?

No the 2WD damper is not offset.

It is very likely that the Double wish-bone with torsion bar will be carried FW to the new Scorpio with the offset damper latching to the lower arm.

Possible pictures of the-
  1. 2WD dampers (same as XYLO)
  2. 4WD Axles

Re: 2014 Mahindra Scorpio Facelift (W105). EDIT: Now launched at Rs. 7.98 lakhs

Saw the new Scorpio today at the Mahindra Kondapur showroom in Hyderabad, the S6. It wasn't available for a test drive, so had to be content with just taking a look inside and outside.

Before you read any further here's a caveat: I'm not 'into' vehicles in the way of the many aficionados who make this forum so informative and such a pleasure to read. So my observations are from the perspective of the average Joe; if they lack in detail or are too vague, well, my apologies, but that is how I look at vehicles.

I thought that in real life it looked fine. That is, I neither felt it was visually amazing, nor did I feel any particular outrage at any design changes from the previous version. Sorry to sound like a milksop, but it looked, erm, ok.

Now for the interiors. I know this is supposed to be a macho SUV, but was a trifle disappointed with the interiors as far as comfort goes. The front and middle row seats appeared to be quite hard, the arm rest on the middle row was so low as to be unusable.

The middle row was a bench seat system, and so there was no way to incline the seats back. It felt hard, did I say that already? Why would I bother with the middle row? Well, and this may sound like sacrilege, I can imagine many situations where I would like to be driven around in my Scorpio.

This may be a nitpick but sliding the front and middle seats back and forth, I also didn't get that smooth feeling, it felt instead like an effort.

In a week or two I will take it for a test drive and find out about ride quality. But if I'm being asked to pay Rs 14.62 lakh on the road for an S8 BS4, (whatever the BS4 means), I'll need to see a little more riding and seating comfort. The Xylo across the room felt a lot more plush from the inside, but unfortunately I still have a violent reaction to that vehicle's looks.
