Vineeth T shares these pictures. Thank you!

The Scorpio (probably was a base version) was fully loaded to its capacity. I guess they were public as I saw the same vehicle close to Bangalore and had only driver.

Seem to be different than the one on the forum as the back does not seem to be covered up.

Agree to all the other points except this one.

If I am buying an SUV, I would like to feel its an SUV and would absolutely not want a "car like" feel. For that, we have MUVs like the Innova which offer a rugged suspension with a car like feel.

SUV fans like me love the SUVish driving experience. It may not have the best handling or stability at high speeds nor the ride but we adore SUVs for what it is presently. I feel by offering a car like handling, the whole SUV feel/experience would be diluted.

Infact crossovers like the XUV and Aria presently aim to address the same public demand - an SUV with the characteristics of a car. So, please let the SUVs be!

P.S.: Some people may feel or comment that "Scorpio is not an SUV"! Okay... "pseduo-SUV", whatever!

True but then yet what is more car like for one vehicle will not be to that extent for another. Premium SUV's do have handling characteristics that match the home grown Crossovers like XUV500 or Aria or rather even better. As long as the Scorpio remain a ladder frame design it will always have what you refer to as SUV like driving experience but just as the Safari was improved in that aspect quite significantly with the Strome and for that matter even the Aria (ladder frame too irrespective of the crossover / MUV looks) similarly the Scorpio has a lot of scope to improve in the handling, braking and ride areas. The Pajero, Scorpio, Aria and Safari all there have an erect seating position unlike the Endeavour, Innova and Fortuner and that aspect will I believe continue with the new Scorpio as well and this erect seating position make for a significant SUV like experience unlike in cars where one is seated with the legs upfront as in a sofa rather than like in an office chair.

I am not against the Scorpio having an improved ride and handling. Infact, that is a must. What I meant is, I dont want the Scorpio to be another Innova in the making.

For people who want a car like vehicle with rugged suspension and good GC, they have the Innova. Leave the Scorpio and Storme for SUV lovers like me!

That looks like a base version in the latest snaps, going by the absence of the spoiler, as well as the old shape rear High mounted stop lamp. Looks like body cladding is going to be standard on all versions, going by the pics. Also looks like the Scorpio will be getting those peeled back headlamps. May turn out to be ugly, IMHO.

Few observations from the last reported pics:-
1) Beige interiors in LX variant.
2) Cladding in LX variant, the footboard although is of the unual LX .
3) Tow hook in non 4x4 LX variant.
4) Driver test driving without putting seat belts.

Few requests to M&M.

You know you have a winner on your hand. Just make these changes.

External Styling could be tweaked but we had enough of chrome and bling
More room for the driver.
More comfy ride quality. I dont like throwing up after going on a trip(Exaggeration) but the ride is pretty boat like.
Test the electronics more. You know the xuv complaints. Work backwards.
Auto tranny?
Focus on increased exports. 4000 a month is great but try capture the world.

The new Scorpio has been spotted testing alongwith other M&M vehicles in a convoy at Manali. Motorbeam have reported the sighting, & here is link to their report:

Hopefully M&M work on the ride quality of the vehicle this time. This would be a big plus IMO.

re: 2014 Mahindra Scorpio Facelift (W105). EDIT: Now launched at Rs. 7.98 lakhs

Saw the new scorpio, the W105 in flesh at the Nashik facility standing beside the Scorpio Assembly line. Looks good. Interiors are a shift in design. Gone are the circular features. Way better fit and finish. Saw 5 of them standing together. The changes are not just skin deep. Changes to mechanical parts as well.

There are more products coming up as well. In the people carrier segment as well as their largest seller. Again changes are not skin deep. Infact there are proper mechanical changes. That is all I can tell you guys keeping myself limited.

Just wondering if they've kept the new look simple or as is typical with MM, are they busy designs? My idea of a simple design would be the Storme while busy is the XUV. Both have their fan club so not getting into better or worse.
When will it be launched? Any conversation about variants that you can share?

Cheers
Adi
