New MQB Octavia will be unveiled in November 2012 in Europe. India launch should be by May - June 2013

So with the headlamps upgraded, do the lamps on the earlier models be upgraded of the shelf ?

I think we have a unanimous decision on the new alloys of the Vento. They suck!

The new prices put the Polo where it should have been from the beginning, smack in the Swift territory. The petrol Polo has now become astounding value for money.
With features like the sat-nav on board and reduced prices i think the petrol version will see a hike in sales.
After all a diesel car doesn't make sense if you are not going to use the car for more than 50k kms.

Clearly, the better selling models have the least decrease in price. lol:

I am bit confused here. The Bridge model was launched few weeks back and now they launch refreshed Vento with new features. I dont see the Bridge model mentioned in the new price list. Could somebody throw some light in this matter.

The New Petrol Highline at the VW Cochin. They did not have the Diesel version yet.

Guys, can anyone confirm the feature changes in Polo Trendline or Comfortline models?

The dealer staff claim that they still have no idea and VW's website has not been updated.

These prices are same as the ones posted in ET, but the thread's first post and top gear india http://www.topgear.com/india/car-new...ento/itemid-50

quote the Polo HighLine at 6.94Lakh ex-showroom Delhi.
Confusion.

To add to it, the dealer here in Delhi (claiming to be the largest in India, probably is) was non-commital on prices and features, he told that he would update me about that once he gets the car in his dealership.
He just agreed that new revised models are being launched.

Are you referring to a difference of Rs. 400 in the two prices of polo highline.

Thanks for the pics.

The alloys look bad, and fragile too. Makes the older Vento alloys look much more understated and classy, IMO. I wonder if these new alloys added to the price cut, as they seemingly look cheap and might not last the distance as the older ones. (like what Honda did to the 2012 City - providing cheaper alloys to the V variant)

Smoked headlamps look seriously cool, though. Makes you wonder why VW didn't offer them from the beginning itself - it could have added a few more numbers to Vento's monthly sales till now.

And yes, 9.89L (ex-Delhi) is still a bit too steep, IMO. 9.50L could have been perfect pricing, and a bullseye shot in itself!

With the maximum price hit to our guys in Karnataka (not to mention the highest RT %age as well), it could have brought down the Diesel Highline's price considerably all over India, and could have under-cutted the Verna Diesel's prices. That could have really heated up the competition in the C2 segment market, and VW could have taken the fight right into Hyundai's corner. A missed chance by VW.

As regards the Polo, only an ardent fan of the car (or it's looks) or German engineering would risk buying a 3-potter Diesel at 7L, any/all added features aside. The Swift & the Punto still have it beaten at that price point. Too bad Fiat India's A.S.S. has brought the company down to what it is today, or I would have foreseen a real surge in Punto's sales after this latest move by VW.

I also belong to the category who think that the older alloys design were more good than the new one that is now been offered.
Anyway the smoked headlamps are looking nice and would definitely add on to looks of both Polo and Vento.:)

I have just spoken to VW customer care and following are the enhancements in the refreshed Vento Highline:

1. Black smoke Headlights.
2. 4 Speakers
3. New alloys
4. Blue-tooth connectivity.

I'm planning to buy Vento, and really disappointed with the new alloys, they look fragile and cheap.

So they have now added Comfortline variant to the Vento Petrol range (or was it always there? I do not see it on their dated website!).

I am guessing it will have ABS too.

Since this update was more of a 'cosmetic' one,VW could've added blinkers on the ORVM to the Polo and Vento, like in the i20 and Swift. Its nothing great to have, but certainly would've been good (please don't flag me saying ORVM's will be expensive to replace et al)
