I think they should put the Wagon-r engine in the old zen shell. So you get the power and the price advantage and proper positioning.. if they bring ignis.. it may hurt Swift.

This news is true and few days back there was an interview on AAJ TAK of MD of MUL - Mr Jagdish Thakkar. They had shown many images of the car and it didn't look much impressive....depends on How it looks on-road...he said that they would be introducing the car in Diwali and also promised that every year Maruti will launch a new model. He also added that he expects the sales to be similar to SWIFT/Wagon -R.

You are lucky to have maruti.

i don't know what it's like in other country.

but in Thailand, car company always sell lowcost material vehicle with hight price or some time i can say that...over price.
( toyota yaris for 599,999 - 759,000 bath aka. 6.2 laks-7.8 laks.....what abt swift in India 4.0 laks???...and the tax is not a mile difference)

i'd like to say that you lucky to have Maruti who set a price standard. if you don't ,the foreiner car company will make a lot profit from you and you won't have oppotunity to buy cheap car like you have now.

According to a report in TOI today, the Zen is coming in August, and it will have the 1.1 L engine!.. The report also says the new Zen will be similar to the Alto in shape.

So it seems the MR Wagon is NOT the replacement for Zen.... or is it??...

confusion.. confusion... confusion.....

guys,

i have a strange feeling that they are going to re-launch the same Alto vxi...

anyways..cant predict anything now..lets wait and watch..

but if they launch that MR wagon(2001 model) its like selling an out-dated car..

when other companies are introducing some new models..why is maruti launching some old model?

I kinda like the MR-Wagon from what I see in Autocar India. Definately better than today's Zen which is going thru an identity crisis.

Why dont maruti retain the jelly bean design, may be just change the front, rear bumpers, nice side skirts, some new sporty colours, 14" alloys, powerful 1.3 ltr engine, sporty shox

the tall boy design sucks......india never had a car which we could look upto, and only zen has come close to tht (because it is priced right as well).....why cant they build a legacy out of zen....

wht do u guyz say....

iam a diehard zen fan n so these r my comments...wht do u guyz say

If wishes were horses........we'd all ride!!!!!!
Personally i think the existing Zen with the AltoVxi/WagonR 1.1 litre engine willl do wonders.......a few exterior changes wouldn't hurt either!!!
