I came across this interesting piece of news item today.

http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/...w/16304119.cms

Post the Manesar incident, R. C. Bhargava stepped in and announced some seemingly positive steps to correct some of the imbalances at the plant which were perceived to be the core reasons for the violence. Some of them namely hiring more permanent labor, firing of the workers involved in violence though it seemed they fired more than the numbers who were involved. At least on the face of it MSIL seems to be picking up the pieces and seemed to be fixing things in a way that might eliminate repetition of such incidents.

And then this

Quote:

Thirty-four-year-old Anuj Sharma, chief instructor at Delhi-based Invictus Survival Sciences, who conducted "the first round" of a preliminary, four-hour training in self-defence for 30 employees at Maruti's Gurgaon plant, said, "Our methods are a mix of (martial art forms) krav maga, kaap, systema, defendo, ground fighting and grappling techniques."
I was half amused going through this as I am not sure if it would really help. Why should MSIL workers need to become Jackie Chans :D. I mean I couldn't stop myself smiling looking at the funny side of it in a non-sadistic way. Reminded me of some of the Kung Fu movies that are dubbed and played on our movie channels. A small misunderstanding over who gets to eat first could lead to an action sequence from a Kung Fu movie. Or imagine the situation where the floor supervisor is discussing the appraisal results of an average employee while driving home a point. Well I do hope this is just something which is kind of preventive and all the other steps that MSIL has taken till now to dissipate the situation and bring about normalcy take more priority in maintaining calm and peace.
