Isnt there a good automobile company in india, which is customer centric rather than profit making company.
I believe any Company on earth is first 'profit centric'. What drives them to customer centric is the law. Unless government is serious, but which manufacturer would bother?

Re: The Right To Repair Act - coming to India soon ?

The names of those companies has to be disclosed first before talking about the right to repair act. I really don't understand the reason for them to keep the names of these entities confidential. They have to be transparent when they issue this notification information to the media.

I think US already has a lot of laws which we don't have
- you need to service your cars at the authorised service center even during the warranty period as long as the service is done right. You can even service it at home as long you do it right and maintain a proper record.
- lemon law

The Right To Repair Act has been effective in some states such as California since 2003.

Re: The Right To Repair Act - coming to India soon ?

Here is a very nice article on the current status of The Competition Commission of India (CCI) suit against 17 of India's top car makers that accuses them of controlling the huge after-sales service & spares market in the country, often selling spares at 40-400% margin to customers. While car makers are controlling their spares, 3rd party service stations and customers are at a huge disadvantage.
