From the press release, the refreshed Indica eV2 will have,

Stylish new exteriors
With added convenience features
Best-in-class fuel efficiency of 25KMPL
Even more affordable
Own the Tata Indica eV2 with a down payment of Rs.50,000/- only

At a price reduced by 23,000.

Personally, I would have liked them to go the whole hog and revamp the interiors too!

Looks like to stem the sales number fall, TaMo has decided to lower the entry price points for its vehicles, starting with the oldest - the Indica.

Expected launch of the Manza with 75PS engine, the CR4 powered Vista and the new lower variant of Aria, all point to the same strategy.

TML press release mentions 70 HP CR4 engine. What happened to the refreshed eV2 model that was sighted with "90" badging?

More indica versions.. Err. They already have 25 variants and yet sell less. More variants is more confusion and complex inventory. Tata is like several software companies, who are good at releasing products, and patches;but poor in retiring. Soon legacy will catch them.

What they have done now, they should have done this at the time of eV2 introduction. Indica now looks good with Indigo CS exteriors. But Indica has lost its name. So I would expect, they should go Maruti way and revamp exteriors as well as interiors totally. Get a new look and launch with different name. Continue selling current model as Indica but introduce new model based on vista platform and do not name it Indica. Just like Swift(old)/Ritz siblings.

I am very interested in this 50k down-payment scheme and asked for a quote from VST, Chennai and this is what i got.

--------
EX = SHOW ROOM PRICE = 4,92,858(OWN USE MODEL )
INSURANCE = 18,760
REG + TAX = 55,786
EX = WARRANTY = 6,050
TOTAL = 5,73,454
DISCOUNT = 20,000
GRAND TOTAL = 5,53,454

REMARKS*EXCHANGE BONUS FOR BOTH TAXI & PERSONAL SEGMENT Rs,20,000. *ACCESORIES WORTH 3,000 FREE.
----------

There was no mention of the 50k scheme. How can they take a 50k downpayment when Insurance+Reg+Tax = Rs.74,546?. Is the discount offered normal or can I ask for more?

I have already sent a mail asking about the 50k scheme and if i can get a bigger discount.

I don't understand. The website and the brochure for new Indica are showing 4 vaiants: L, LE, LS and LX with L variant beginning from Rs. 4,01,162 (ex-Delhi) and top variant at 4.87 Lakhs whereas the press release clearly specifies that 3 variants (LE as base, LS and LX) are there with base variant starting from Rs. 4,01,162 (ex-Delhi) and top variant at 4.87 lakh.

So which is the base variant: L or LE?

I think Tata will not stop confusing us.

How is the long term performance/reliability of this CR4 engine?

Opinions got from friendly cab drivers will matter the most.

What's new?
- Front Bumper, headlights & Grill from the Indigo XL/eCS.
- Rear Spoiler, Wooden finish on the dash on the LX/GLX, again from the eCS, Rear Power Windows, all in the LX/GLX.
- I believe this "Sea blue" color was not on offer before.

Looks better than before, but ABS could've been offered instead of alloy wheels, for the same price on the LX.
However I don't see the LX as VFM compared to the Figo EXi & Vista TDi, and the LS/LE are too barebones.

IIRC, the CR4 L was available on order.

Have been trying to get details about the 50k downpayment offer all day yesterday and today, but no details. VST Motors Chennai keeps thinking that I am some cab fleet operator and talk to me, when I say that I am a individual buyer, they say they will get back to me but never call back. Concorde Motors has no clue of even the on road price, made a call this morning and the sales rep. said he will call me back in 15 mins and the 15 mins has not arrived for him. If tata does not want to give this offer to the customers, then I dont understand why they advertise it? :Frustrati
