This is a good move as the RX5 sported even lesser features than the Scorpio VLX. Still the brand is too unknown to command such a premium price.

With the likes of Toyota Fortuner ruling this segment, and alternates available like Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and Ford Endeavour, I really doubt the future of Ssangyong Rexton R6 and R7. The company should really look at reducing the cost and bring it to sub 18 lakh category. That might really help them boost their sales.

Any news on Rexton coming with the new 2 litre engine that Mahindra had showcased at the Auto Expo 2014? That may give it the required boost as the ageing 2.7 Mercedes engine is pretty old school and noisy

I really love the Engine and manual gearbox in Rexton, i am sure the VGT version with Manual transmission will be much better. I do find the powerband narrow compared to my XUV's mhawk.

I haven't looked under this car, you think, you can add a protection plate? Should that be enough after side steps removed? Not for OTR's but kacchaa culverts, mud roads with deep approach & departure angles or trails. No OTR's & mud stuff.

And have driven the RX-5 as well the RX-7. I find the engine, as well as drivability superior to few other SUVs.

Rexton RX6 MT was launched at Hotel Radisson Blu, Chennai, yesterday evening. We received invitation to participate in the launch function. Me and wife attended the function. Here are some pics of the presentation material, vehicle interiors and entertainment programmes.

I drove one recently. A friends. What a smooth drive. Minimum roll and see saw movement unlike the fortuner.

The 2015 SsangYong Rexton has been unveiled in South Korea. Features include a newly designed radiator grille that seems to have been inspired by the SsangYong Chairman saloon, new alloy wheels and projector headlamps with day time running LEDs.
