NOTES:

1. Only cars that sell 500+ units (and thus, the relevant ones) have been included in the gainers & losers chart.
2. A big shout-out to parrys for preparing these beautiful charts & graphs!

One of the worst months for Tata and it will only go bad. They seriously need to rethink their strategy.

I must say that their Service Experience has improved, however the image still needs a makeover. Probably they need to involve some Six Sigma Master Black Belts for process re-engineering.

Superb analysis GTO, as usual. Any major reason why the D1 segment has seen a fall across manufacturers?

Covered in the highest detail at this link

Bang!! Happy to see this on the very first day of the month.

Thanks GTO and Parrys for your efforts :thumbs up

Am wondering Why Chevy Beat sales has hit such a low

Awesome report GTO and Parrys.

Interesting to see Sales of Beat has suffered. Is this because of the launch of sail?

Face-lifted Figo doesn't seems to doing better than its predecessor.
Alto is back as Numero uno position.

As a whole October has been great to do business for auto manufacturers.:)

GTO no manufacturer wise analysis this month?.

The BEAT is struggling even with the diesel engine. I guess the novelty of the design has worn off and since it is not a design that will age gracefully, people have probably started looking elsewhere!

The FIGO has consistently been doing 4.5K+ for the last 6 months.

Thanks GTO for detailed information.

Here are few observations from my end

Maruti - Another impressive month from MS, bagging the top 4 sales by volumes

M&M :Nice month for M&M. Quanto seems not to hamper Xylo sales.Need to see the sales in the coming months. XUV shows a decline. Reason? Duster effect?

GM /Ford - A disastrous month for the American manufactures . Would SAIL be the saviour in the coming moths?

Hyundai - i20/i10 and Verna keeps the figures stable for Hyundai

Tata - Seem to have lost the plot. Nothing worthwhile in the sales

VW - Flat sales but Polo seems to be moving, could be the price correction being a contributor.

Fiat - With the market share dwindling is at the lower end of the chart. Makes to believe that they are are not interested in the Indian market.

Honda - City and Brio does well but Jazz seems to be on the down slide.

Cheers!

Looking at the graphs, it seems like UVs are eating sedans for breakfast, especially in the C2 and D1 segments. It's also quite apparent that that it's the so called "premium" manufacturers that focus mostly on sedans from these segments that have taken the greatest hit, while the UV and hatch makers are on a high.
By the way how does Fiat manage to keep its production line running for just 37 Lineas? And even more important, how does it pay its employees with that kind of numbers?
(On a lighter note, Fiat employees must have the easiest jobs in the Indian auto industry) :p

Duster is selling 1100 units more than the venerable XUV5OO! I am quite surprised by this as XUV offers a lot more for a slightly higher price. I guess more than SUVs, people want SUV-styled cars, even if those don't offer all the benefits for which people choose SUVs in the first place.

Ahh! Bang on time this month. :D

Well Duster is surely doing a superb job for Renault. But what happened to nisssan this month? Looks like Renault Scala took away a big share from the sales of the Nissan Sunny.

I expected Swift and dzire to sell in much higher numbers than this as people like to buy their vehicles during the navratri period.

BTW, I am really missing your expert comments in this month's analysis, GTO. :p
