Re: November 2012 : Indian Car Sales Figures & Analysis

Tata Motors sold only 65K vehicles in December. Expectations were at 69K
Passenger cars down 51% which was the significant contributor to TML downward trend.

M&M sales stand at 45K. UP by 18%. This doesn't include Tractors.

Surprisingly, the sales of 2 wheelers went up beyond expectations. I believe that there wont be any discounts on 2 wheelers. So the potential first time car buyers, who plan to choose from < 4.5 - 5l budget are turning towards two wheelers.

Duster sales are down. This clearly shows that the demand has gone now. I hope renault cuts the price of its cars now.

GTO: The wait for December sales figures has started.

Will GM's loss be TATA's gain? Did we actually see any fall in GM sales under Karl's leadership?!

Gosh! And these guys don't plan to launch any new product for the next 3 years! Guess Toyota's attitude needs to be changed.

Re: November 2012 : Indian Car Sales Figures & Analysis

Tata Motors has sold only 14xxx passenger cars in December. This includes the Manza/Vista/Indica/Nana/SUV/MUV range.

One of the worst months for Tata as this is a 50% drop from last year.

Re: November 2012 : Indian Car Sales Figures & Analysis

Tata Motors sold only half of what they have projected.

Toyota sales stand at 76 around %. A 21+% down YOY.

Even duster sales went down by 900 Units MOM.

Hyundai has also reported declining sales YOY.

If every company had low sales in December, who gained volumes?

I think now we can see only downward trend for Duster unless they focus on customer service. You have to visit Hyderabad Renault showroom to know how worst customer experience one can have.

I bought RxZ and didn't change my experience even after visiting their service center for 1st service.

Re: November 2012 : Indian Car Sales Figures & Analysis

December typically is lower every year but this time we are seeing low sales in diwali and later too.

Too early to say Duster is going down because almost all manufacturers have reported lower sales.

Only M&M seems to be shining. I am waiting for the breakup on M&M. Interesting to see the Quanto numbers. If this is successful, and with sub 4m verito - they can eye the second spot below Maruti - Sadly their stocks dont seem to show the excitement (i hold few shares) but Tata seems to be doing good in share market

I understand what you are saying.
Even I stay in hyderabad and i went to Sri Sri Renault which is too close to my home.

I went there for atleast 5 times. One time, i carried cash of One Lk, and 2 times carrying a cheque book. No one cared to take booking amount. Waiving cheque books or cash doesnt work in Renault showrooms.

Forget money, Till date No Renault Executive has taken my mobile number.
Renault showroom is the only one in hyderabad, which doesnt care to take a prospective buyers mobile number.

Honda reportedly gained 296% in sales volume in Dec 2012 when compared to Dec 2011. I guess the Brio might be the main reason.

Ford India also gained 9% for the same period, despite having no new products launched, apart from the refurbished Figo.
