No words to describe about the people that come up with such news, especially with the launch timing. I seriously doubt if this is going to be launched in India anytime soon. Firstly it's got HR plates, where FIAT doesn't really has any presence. It would have made sense if the car had MH plates.

Secondly, if you see the launches by FIAT or any manufacturer for that matter, the homologation process to launch would take an year atleast. This definitely looks to be a car being tested by a competitor and not by FIAT. If I'm not wrong this same car was spied few months ago.

Agreed. The car that was spotted few months back was MH 14 registered and it is being used by a rival company for R&D work.

While I do not believe what is being speculated, I just posted what the source has mentioned in the article.

Auto Expo launch seems unlikely as you have mentioned.

I was referring to this post bro. It's the same car while I'm not sure who's testing the MH14 reg. (could be the TATAs)

Yes could be the TATA's. Here's the MH 14 registered 500L that has been in the country since the last year.

Re: Fiat's India strategy revealed

Is the normal Fiat 500 2 door variant with the 1.3 MJD still available in India?

This particular car wearing HR numberplates was imported by Maruti-Suzuki India Limited back in February 2015 for testing purposes for the S-Cross, prior to the crossover's launch.

Re: Fiat's India strategy revealed

There is news that Fiat will replace the Linea in 2016 with the Fiat Aegea, also called Fiat Tipo (reviving a name used by them in 1990s).

Fiat Aegea Test Drive and India launch

But Ill stay away from any Fiat until the improve their service. The horror stories are never ending - trust me, I own both Linea and Punto. Even Renault is better currently than them currently in service. The cars are gems but what is the use? =0

Since you're from Chennai, out of curiosity, what horror stories? I've had a Punto for five years and no issues with service, either with Concorde Motors at the beginning or with Ramkay now. I get it done once a year, forget it in between. Car's running like new -- the only problems have been with electrical stuff now and then (window button, left-side door lock, stuff like that) all of which were fixed promptly.

Re: Fiat's India strategy revealed

Okay maybe of least interest but here are Fiat;s possible plans for India.

Quote:
It plans to introduce the India-made Jeep in 2017, with a brand launch in Auto Expo 2016 and is exploring a 326 modular platform for a future hatchback, sedan and an SUV . If its comeback strategy bears fruit in two years, FCA would work out a new product portfolio for India.
Currently, the 326 platform underpins the Fiat Palio sold in Brazil. 2017 and beyond could be the cation for India from Fiat.

While you were sleeping

Hi to all,
Fiat has launched their Punto Abarth and Avventure Abarth without any noise. I got to know only because a friend told me.
Looks hottttt. See the website for the details. http://www.fiat-india.com/abarth-punto/

http://www.fiat-india.com/avventura/ has a small section menu on left - Powered by Abarth.

Both do 0-100 in =<9.9s. Looks are stonking good, and even the cabin/pedals/instrument cluster is new for the Punto.

Regards
Karthik

Buddy, you should hear the noise (rather see it) that Abarth Punto has created here.

Pls check the below thread.

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian...-95-lakhs.html

BTW Abarth Punto does 0-100 in 8.8 Secs and Aventura (powered by Abarth) does the same in 9.9 Secs.
