One important thing to note in the Fiesta Hatch is,
Overall length (mm) - 3916
But for the new excise duties to apply, the petrol engine needs to be less than or equal to 1.2 ltrs. It comes loaded with lots of safety features too.
Interesting times ahead.

Where does it say the other models may be coming?

Am I missing something, or do you think they are coming because the specs page has those models listed...
If so, I doubt it... I'm guessing that page was lifted from from ford's global page or something, and someone forgot to edit those models out.

I hope i'm wrong

i doubt this piece of information.....this is just a template from their international site.....the GHIA and ST nomenclature is not used in india.....it has been dropped for more 'indian' terms like exi sxi and zxi......even clxi was dropped for the ikon 1.6.....besides a 2 litre engine would do fuel efficiency no good(as if the 1.6 is fuel efficient itself!!!!) so it wouldnt sell...so they arent gonna launch it....

Hi,

I dont think that its not a mistake as a week ago the website was working properly with only the current models listed on specs page but today when i went to compare 1.6 sxi and zxi i saw these. so may be they roll out these in near future but i am also not sure about it.

Thanks

I Agree.

Just to confirm, please look at the wheel size specs for the Fiesta hatch- 16 Inch Alloys I mean, taht is Scorpio territory! With 16 incers on the fiesta, the tyres cant be more that 45 profile- so obviously not for India unless someone wants to rearrange their internals.

They may do the hatch+1.4 diesel and take advantage of the exise cut. They have to find a suitable petrol engine for it also. They have a Zetec 1.25 liter which was designed by Yamaha and they have to downsize it by 50cc to make it.

The 2.0 ST will be a scorcher !!!

I couldn't help laughing... But that's OK, Other brands will be soon coming out with new launches for India. India's roads will never be the same again. Buy your wheels carefully, else you may be left with that new but old junk while others zoom ahead.....

Did i hurry buying a ford fiesta. hmmmm! 2.0L, 1.9 seems to be far fetched IMO. Rather ford can concentrate on launching a small car under 4L.
