-   -   Car Ads we'd like to see (https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian-car-scene/13142-car-ads-wed-like-see.html)

this is in continuation of the best and worst Ads threads. while all ads play up the product attributes and design features, what if we, as a knowledgeable car lovers forum, came up with funny ad copies that exaggerate the product deficiencies? the intention is not to defame or put down our fave cars that have sold thousands of units and earned our respect, but just to have some mild fun based on our knowledge of cars and their makers. I thought of a few and if it's worthwhile, more can be added (or we can shut down the thread and i will personally apologise for any offence caused).

Product 1: New Scorpio (Sequel)
Female in Black Suit sitting in the helicopter has just managed to blow the snow off the gleaming black Scorpio. Male in Black Suit gives a half-smile, puts on his glares, gets in the vehicle and roars off. 500 metres down the straight road, the ghats start and soon the Scorpio's rear is gyrating like a bad belly dancer. Male Black Suit is still smiling. He stops the vehicle, gets out and signals to Female Black Suit. Suddenly, 2 steel pylons emerge from the hovering copter with mechanised clasps that fasten on the Scorpio's ski rails. Male Black Suit gets back in and drives off. Scorpio moves in a straight line, with additional stability from the air.
Tagline: With 43 changes and over-the-air customer support. Nothing else will do.

Product 2: Esteem
It is the 27th generation leap for the Virmani clan in KSBKBT and all 28 generations have assembled for the wedding of Bachoo, including countless Baas and Bahus. Everyone lands up in their favorite blue Esteem, gifted to them by Dadaji on their wedding day. The men's shoes are hidden but because all the Esteem's look exactly the same, the shoes can't be found and even the girls who hid them are confused about which car they've been hidden. In total frustration, the guys decide to spend the cash partying at a nearby newly re-opened dance bar.
Tagline: Yug-Yug ke baad bhi, kuch na badla

Product 3: Palio
An urban sophisticate is driving down a village road near the greens of Nashik, Maharashtra in his Palio, when suddenly his car stalls and refuses to start again. He begins to curse himself for following his heart and buying the car even when his family and friends recommended others. But to his amazement he suddenly sees a Fiat signpost nearby. He follows the signs thinking "Boss, service tho ekdum fit ho gaya hai" when the signs lead him to a tabela. He asks the doodwalla "Yeh Fiat ka service station hai?" "Nai saab, yeh Fiat ka factory hai!!"
Tagline: Driven by passion. And by the grace of God.

One recent ad which is not only well conceptualized but quite cheeky and light with a fun tune to it is the Tata Nano 2012 commercial. It also brings out the key features of the car or the upgrades done to the 2012 version. Even the ones in the regional languages are good to hear. Always look forward to see this one commercial during TV breaks. Watch it in case you have missed it till now-

Welcome to Nano :: TVC

Lol Sam. I'm really really impressed. I'm a copywriter by profession. And I must say that you've really written some whacky stuff here. Wanna give shot to a career in advertising? BTW the KSBKBT spoof was the best. lol:

I got one.

Swift:
A young guy drives into a mall and is stopped by security.
Security Guy: Sir, open the bonnet and the rear doors for checking please.
Young Guy: OK. Should I open the boot as well?
Security Guy: Chodo, usme waise hi kuch nahin aata! lol: [Leave it, you really can't stuff anything there]

Voice in background: Why do you need a boot when driving it is such a hoot clap:

edit:
A one liner.
Punto:
"If the looks don't kill, we'll make sure the A.S.S. finishes the job."

An ad for for the back-lifted (bulging back) Ritz:

(First image that of the current Ritz's rear, saying) "All those who hate me because of my back, or, lack of it," (second image that of the rear-lifted Ritz, saying) "will drool over me now!".

Not exactly a car/bike one but more on Road Safety:

A person dressed up as Rama - God's Avatar descends down from the sky and sits in a car. As soon as he starts the ignition and slots the car in First gear (camera cut to the gear lever and then pans out again), he remembers something and pulls back the gear lever to Neutral.

Pulls the seat belt and buckles it up.

A voiceover with this tagline - "Even Gods know that seat belts saves LIFE" :)

OK, Another one

Beginning Shot - Two thieves are seen running out of a bank after conducting a heist and sit on their bike. The pillion rider is the Boss and the driver is his pawn (employee). The driver kicks the bike but it doesn't start. In the background we hear a police siren ringing and the sound is coming closer. Petrified they see a car (TATA NANO) in the foreground and run towards it. They point their gun towards the driver and get in

Hopping in the car, the 3rd person(car owner) slots it into first gear and after a wheelspin (Ok, that might go far fetched) the car surges forward.

Quickly they build up a good enough lead over the chasing police car (The super can be 37/39 bhp of power)

Perspiring they are about to open the windows, when the owner stops them and puts on the AC, chilling the cabin in no time.
(The super can be best in class AC)

The car enters a forest region to loose the police and drop the thieves. Going over rough patches/terrain (Best in class handling and suspension)

At a point, when they are about to get in the car, the pawn gives a pleading look to the camera and boss and says "Boss ab aur kick nahi maara jaata, hume bhi gaadi le leni chahiye" Translation - "Boss, its high time we also get a car, because i cannot keep on kick starting the bike".

The owner replies - "Ab aap bhi Nayi Nano le sakte hain sirf Ek lakh 44 hazaar mein" Translation - "Now you can also get a New Nano in just 1.44Lakhs"

A screen shot of Tata Nano 2012 highlighting key features of the car.

Last shot - The thieves going in with their loot in a bag to the Tata dealership and driving out the Nano and the screen fades with this tag line "Everyone Wants ONE"

It is actually something that TATA could use instead of the 'Khushiyon ki Chaabi"! :thumbs up
But wasn't the idea behind the thread something else? Poking fun at the cars due to their bad attributes?

Note from the Team-BHP Support Team: Thread closed as a similar one already exists. Continue discussions here. Discussing only car specific ad's can be done in the existing thread as well, so there is no need for a new standalone thread altogether.
