The front lamp cluster looks like XUV and the rear lamp cluster looks like Audi Q series. I guess they would give LED tail lamps as being tested in the Scorpio (economies of scale).

Spotted S101 two days back in Tiruporur-Chengalpattu state highway, sorry for not getting side and frontal pics!!

My friend Akhil clicked these pics on his way to Chennai, @ Chengalpattu on Monday morning. Looking at the number plate and the rear lights, I believe this is the S101. Loved to see the double barrell projector headlights. He said the car was NOT that big, rather to the tune of a sizeable hatchback, say a Swift.

While reading the Autocar India and Top Gear magazines (last month issues) I understood that Mahindra is launching a couple of new vehicles and a facelift on almost all their existing vehicles.

Together with SSangyong they are going to launch a hatch with a good stance, which is probably the S101 and there was a mention of a mini SUV that will be pitched against the likes of the Duster and Ecosport code named S102.

The S102 is likely to be built on the same platform as the S101. The vehicle in the pictures of this thread looks to me as it is the smart poised hatch with a good stance with the code name S101. Does anyone have some scoop pictures of the S102, mini SUV.

Anyone with more information on this?

One of my friends spotted this test mule at Ashok Hagar, Chennai and posted the picture on Facebook. I have no other picture nor the details about the car. I will leave it to the experts to identify the car. Possibly Mahindra's compact suv?

Yes, This looks like the test mule of the compact SUV of Mahindra. Clue could be the hood and dash design.

Its too early to say, but the test mules looks a bit too tall for its size. S101 in my opinion is just a tall hatch & not a compact SUV. S102 on the other hands will be a proper sub 4 mtr compact SUV.

Spotted the test mule couple of days back when we drove to Chennai. As many suggested, it looked like a hatch and closely resembled Chevy Beat (height and length). The dash reminded me of A Star (high position of the air con) and the front was similar to the Ecosport (sleek headlamps and small grill). Looks like they are bringing in a petrol version as I didnt notice any visible smoke from the rear (the test mule was doing over 120kmph or I might be wrong).

Now finally Mahindra dares to enter the zone of competition - can it match Maruti Suzuki's Celerio or even the MUV Wagon R ? No way.
