If the S101 starts at 7 lakhs and goes on to 11 lakhs, it is sure to be a failure as I can as invest a little more and buy myself a Duster or a Creta. I thought it was a 5-6 lakh rupee car and was considering it as my first buy especially if it had a petrol AMT/AT

Seeing the kind of design, my guess is that the price will be half of that.

They can't be doing that. This will split their TUV customer line and will may not post any threat to the competition.

I'm quite sure that the guy at the showroom had no clue what he was talking about! This would be priced lower than TUV who's prices on launch were as below. I expect the pricing to be in the range of 5.00-7.50 lacs.

TUV 300 pricelist:
T4: 6.90 lakh
T4+: 7.25 lakh

Mahindra’s upcoming S101 (could be badged KUV100 or XUV100) spotted testing in Pune with DRLs et all. I’m really curious to see how Mahindra would be positioning this vehicle. Will this compete with similarly-priced hatchbacks or will it kick off an all-new micro crossover segment?

Definitely a nice teaser. The grill looks unlike the Mahindra SUVs though, at least from the pic.

The front is a mixture of Ecosport grill and Juke bonnet. Whatever angle we look at this, it just looks a tad bigger than the Kwid and should carry a similar if not marginally higher price tag. But this definitely looks like a premium Mahindra design.

I am aware about a certain aam aadmi who speaks things like that....

(On a serious note) I've already booked a TUV T8 AMT and the car might be delivered by 3rd week of JAN. As far as this event is considered, I am probably the most excited member in this forum for the said reason. I already own the XUV, the junk flagship, so I don't really need 7 seats. What I want was/is a high-stance vehicle with AMT or AT. I took a very hard look at all the vehicles the aam aadmi recommends plus our semi-desi S-Cross and...

The KUV should fit my needs more perfectly and tonight is going to be a sleepless night.
