Someone did mention that there was a puncture and hence the car was parked for a while.

I think you missed the below quote from DrvSafe,

Quote:
The same Ecosport is parked at the same parking spot since last week. Its rear right tyre is punctured (May be thats the reason why its lying at the same spot). Today Wagon r was parked next to it, so was not able to resist taking some more snaps. It looked awesome and very futuristic in between the other cars .

I am sure that is an illusion. Ecosport is bang in the centre whereas Jazz is off-set. Objects at the edge of the frame appear warped through zoom lens. That said, Jazz is no small car but I still doubt Ecosport will be smaller than Jazz. BTW, the colour is smashing. It just stole the show in the parking lot.

Awesome pics. It does look close to the length of the Polo (3970), width of the Swift (1695) and height of the WagonR (1670)!

Size is punto-ish! Wagon R appear to be taller , though ecosport is wider and longer. The dimensions are compact and ideal for those who want an SUV looks without the huge size.

It should not be costing too much, a 12% excise duty helping in that too, to make. I expect it to be priced more like premium hatchbacks like i20,swift, polo etc, maybe at a slight premium.

To me, wagon R is a wrong benchmark and it's taller than most of the sedans and few luxury SUV's Life RR evoque,etc...

Yes, based on the size, pricing should be in B2 or C1 category, not C2.

Saw the ecosport in flesh at inorbit mall pune today. Looks fantabulous and trendy. No way it looks like any hatchback but yes since its a mini/urban SUV looks a little smaller than regular sized suv's . I feel the size and engine plus the gc is perfect for city , highways and state highways/village roads.

The space inside is optimally utilised and it is much more spacious than 10 lakh sedans/hot hatches. Boot space is also adequate for luggage for 2-3 ppl for 10-12 day trip.

With the expected price of 6 for base variant and the features it has it surely is going to kill the market.

Omg that small boot space cannot accommodate much. It's not a big SUV but a sub 4 meter small SUV. It would be better to rate it as a pricier hatch though.

[OT] That depends how light you like to pack and travel. I took 15 days worth of luggage on my bike with my wife and 12 days on my Palio with my daughter and her stuff. I think the boot of the ecosport is adequate.

I am talking in terms of biking type trips where one small saddle bag is good for 10 day tours. Of course 4 women wont be able to do a 2 day trip with such a small boot

Saw the car today. Exterior looks smashing. Interior is well packaged but dull. Space isn't going to be its USP and can at max be compared to my getz
