What Mikon posted in the opening post is Golf MK7, which shares the same platform with Octavia III. The picture on 2nd page is an old news (from 2011), when they were doing similar test runs for the Jetta.

anyway, thats a very clever way of testing the new octavia 2013, by using the similar vehicle..Golf!

We can only pray it is launched in India in near future, the current Polo sales haven't been motivating for them to do get a hot-hatch here.

Seeing a lot of them in UK. all are 2Ltr TDIs. Looks good in hatch back segment. But this will be a costly one even if they are going to launch in india. I think it may be priced in sedan segment and dont expect much in sales. And there is a sport version of golf which is one amoung the most beautiful hatchs i have seen

Its all agreed that the Golf 7 and Octavia 3 (and Seat Leon) share the same platform and the engine, but would they perform in a similar manner on a road test?

I mean the difference in their weight to power ratios, mechanical set ups etc, will all these differences make a difference in their performances during the road tests?

I felt it is bit wider and roomier than polo.
Around 70 to 80% length of vento. (though i didnot park my car besides it)

Just for comparison, its actually slightly wider than the current Jetta, and have almost identical wheelbase.
