Cars we wish manufacturers would launch in India

This being my 1000th post on teambhp so thought of starting a discussion on what may be a dream car that the car makers be it Indian or Foreign would build or offer in India.

I have prepared a list of 5 cars which i would have loved to see them made & selling in the Indian market;

1) AWD Octavia VRS

You cant deny the tuning potential of an VRS.

We have seen 240 hp, 300 hp & also 500 hp VRS's in India only if Skoda starts offering an an AWD variant this shall make the Octavia an unbeatable tuners favorite & make the Octavia quick off the line too.

Lets just hope this makes it through the upcoming VRS;

2) Volvo S60 Polestar;

0-100 in 3.9 secs
From the same T6 block (currently offered in India)
Another good bit is that this is available in an M/T
Currently only a couple of prototypes exists.
This should be put into production & surely should raise the standards of the competition & become the BMW M3, Merc C63 AMG & Audi RS4's WORST NIGHTMARE !!!

3) Fiat Linea "Abarth" Edition;

Cars we wish manufacturers would launch in India-fiatlinea_2007_tc2000-09.jpg

Pic Source : http://canqui.blogspot.in/

Yes we have seen a lot of Punto Abarths out there but now its time we get the Abarth treatment for the sedan lovers.

A red hot version of the Linea Abarth would be more than welcome in India.

4) A RWD Chevrolet Cruze;

Cars we wish manufacturers would launch in India-10660166.jpeg

^ Yes a tire smoking RWD monster
IMHO the Chevrolet Cruze is the only car in its segment which can get the tag of a MUSCLE CAR, thanks to its styling, attitude & power under the hood. Only if it could be a Rear wheel drive which would make it even more desirable.

5) Manual Transmission on cars like these;

This is a major disappointment when buying an high performance compact sedan. The driver involvement what the M/T offers cant be matched by any quick A/T or flappy paddle shifters.

Note;

Lets keep the reality aside for a while as this list is more of a "dream cars" list here for offering in India.

Plz feel free to add to the list & let your your imagination go wild.

Thanks

re: Cars we wish manufacturers would launch in India

I would love to own a nice relatively inexpensive small convertible car - with a foldable metal roof...the Mercs are too expensive but there just might be something from Renault, Peugeot etc that may work for us here in India. Just for those occasional highway drives from Bangalore to Ooty or Coorg or wherever - affordable "wind-in-your-hair" motoring is what I would like.

VW Golf needs to get launched here.
MINI needs to get locally made so that the prices fall to acceptable levels.
We require more options in the small sized 4x4's with high GC, little vehicles like the RAV4 Korando, etc...

But yes, the GT86 was built for drifting.

Really liked the 5th option. I will add estate/tourer versions (from the German trio) as well.

Instead of going really high-end, these are some of the cars I would like see, and those which have a realistic chance if the manufacturers start thinking a bit out-of-the-box.

The Hot ones!
1) Toyota GT86
2) Golf GTI / GTD
3) Suzuki Swift Sport

For the family man:
1) Golf TSI Sport
2) Yeti DSG AT (TSI/TDI)
3) Renault Grand Scénic 1.5 DCi DCT AT

Note: I have only included manufacturers who are currently present in the Indian market.
