Only the 5 cars mentioned below have shown month-on-month gains, the rest have all lost numbers this month!

NOTES:

1: GTO is away for the official review of what might just be the launch of the year, the community can do the analysis this month.

2: Only cars that sell 500+ units (and thus, the relevant ones) have been included in the gainers & losers charts.

As usual, very crisp. Thank you :)

* Unable to notice any amaze effect on other manufacturers. Looks like only Honda city has suffered due to Amaze effect !!
* Etios saw a spike thanks to new refreshed design(mostly perspective owners waited for new model) and gone back to usual levels. Toyota you really need to fire the person who designed the dashboard and rip it apart and install a all new dash board. Everything else is decent
* Ertiga interest is slowing down, No doubt that 15k+15K offer is continuing !!

Amaze has doubled numbers from last month and correspondingly the City numbers have gone done by around half.
Alto figures are down considerably - not sure why.
Innova sales have gone down by more than half from last month. Effect of many other choices for customer in MUV / mini-SUV segment ?

So Amaze takes over Brio in terms of sales. The initial bump in the Amaze sales figures are understandable but such low Brio figure.

In a small analysis I found that except for the Vento/Polo combination the Sedan versions of the Models have done better than the hatchbacks. Refer table below :

Thanks for the charts, I have been waiting since last 5-6 days.
almost all companies showing decline in sales except few, road ahead is tough for car makers as holiday season is approaching when not many people visit showrooms then tourist places.

Looks like Amaze has eaten the numbers from there own City & Brio. Etios & Verito also seems to be affected by it. Not Dzire as many have imagined. Too early to say this though.

Fiat seems to be exclusive car now in India. The numbers they are doing says the same story. Its not so common car now on road. So Fiat owners should be happy with that as they can enjoy the exclusiveness on the crowded road :)

Happy too see Innova numbers going down. I always thinks it sells more than its worth only due to lack of competition. Its really a costly car for what they offer.

Overall a dull month for Auto industry. Don't think it will improve anytime soon in near future unless government lowers the interest rates.

Time for Mahindra needs to facelift (cover the face) of XUV. Sales are declining, Duster effect?

With the end of financial year sale in March, less investments into autos were expected. However some observations,

1. Amaze sells more than the Verna! So Honda is back, and how!
2. Bad month for Toyota, What is with the innova, biggest drop in sales, ever? Fortuner down too.
3. XUV at half its best sales
4. The entire utility segment is down, severely affecting the Innova, bolero in 4 digits
5. Only Verna, Amaze and Indica+ Vista, Laura seem to beat the trend, all others have a bad time
6. Laura, discounts making up for new sales?

I think Honda is severely limited by their monthly production capacity of roughly 10,000 cars per month. It's a toss up between models when it comes to what they should be producing.

I'd say that the Innova's figures are down this month because of the way they've been distributed over the last 2 months. Last month was an exceptionally high 19,000 units for Toyota (all 6 months before that were an average of 12,000).

If you average out March & April, the Toyota sales figures seem to be holding steady with the rest of the industry, and the Innova's dip isn't as big as it appears to be.

Firstly, both of them do not compete directly with each other. (C1 & C2 remember)

Not to forget that the Verna has been around for a much longer time and still manages to sell just 43 cars less than what is a very recent product offering at a cheaper price point. So I do not think it would be appropriate to talk about Honda's success story based only on this.

Innova and Fortuner Sales are significantly down. There are some keep being informed that the Fortuner has a wait list - seems artificially created. Toyota is in bad shape or had a round of maintenance.

Amaze figures should go up further in the next month. Yep city sales can be expected to drop about 30% in the medium term.
Bolero drop is mild compared to Innova, XUV is also down significantly compared to a few months back.
Storme is not raising any dust?
Laura sales seem to also be impacted by model change news.
Nano sales also could be impacted by news of a new model coming in soon.
