I hope its the other way around, Jazz during May-June and Mobilio in late 2014. When I was about to book the last generation Jazz it was discontinued, so eagerly waiting for Jazz 2014. The only concern for me is the the diesel engine noise inside the cabin. Hope it is not as bad as Amaze

re: The 2015 Honda Jazz (3rd-gen)

I am extremely happy to see that Honda has not unveiled the new Jazz with a chrome grill. The good part is that they have not made any design or cosmetic change to the car except for rear spoiler which looks different.

However, the only thing I would like to see in the launch vehicle is a chrome strip on the rear instead of black.

Chrome strip makes it look even better.

The Jazz in new clothes with the 1.5 dtec engine is the perfect city car to dethrone the Swift ! Hope they price it well this time around

re: The 2015 Honda Jazz (3rd-gen)

Nice! Good to see a global car from the Honda stable here. I would pick the Diesel Jazz over the Amaze any day! Less chrome on the outside, that's a very good start. Hope it is not a beige fest inside.

Expecting this little Honda to get to more homes in this third try.

re: The 2015 Honda Jazz (3rd-gen)

Honda Jazz Dashboard.

The 2015 Honda Jazz (3rd-gen)-bf3wgdgcaaiudc9.jpg

Few observations compared to the old Jazz -
Touchscreen audio system like the City
Engine start button like the City
No ACC (hope Honda doesn't drop this in the actual launch)
No Steering controls. Com'on Honda, the old car had it.
No dual glove box. This is a downer, the old one had it.
Good to see AC blower adjustment controls for the side vents but not for the central ones.
Front map lights I guess. The old car has only one cabin light in the center which is pain.
What is the button near the gear lever?

Overall, a mixed bag! But with almost a year to go for the launch, lot of things can change

re: The 2015 Honda Jazz (3rd-gen)

In today's TOI there is a section on Auto Expo 2014. Sadly for Honda Jazz it says, Category: Hatchback; Engine: 1.2l petrol; 1.5 diesel; Expected price: 5-8 lakh; Expected launch: Dec’14-Jan’15

http://bit.ly/1kl926u

The car looks awesome though I am disappointed with the interiors. Hope the final launch version will be more loaded with features.

re: The 2015 Honda Jazz (3rd-gen)

I seriously hope they do NOT drop ACC & Steering mounted controls from this car. Especially when this is supposed to be considered as a premium hatch. They better remember that a better kitted Swift is on it's way.

re: The 2015 Honda Jazz (3rd-gen)

In Japan, the base variant of Fit comes with knobs for AC control. It does not have a Central display screen, Push start button and Steering mounted controls.

As you go higher on the variants, these features gets added. I think what Honda has showcased at the Auto Expo is a mid variant Jazz which will come with knobs for AC control, central display screen and push start button.

The highest variant should be loaded with touch screen AC controls, steering mounted controls and other features.

These are interior features of one of the Fit variants sold in Japan.

Following is what interiors of US variant Fit looks like. Looking at the screen size I wonder if India will also get a 7 inch screen

re: The 2015 Honda Jazz (3rd-gen)

More snaps of interior and exterior features of the new Honda Jazz unveiled at the Auto Expo courtesy IndianAutoBlogs.

In the fifth snap from top where rear seats are completely folded, you can see that Jazz comes with front seat belt height adjuster - a feature which is missing in the new City. Another interesting addition which is also missing in the new City and can be seen in the third snap from top is height adjustable head rest for rear seat passengers and also a head rest for middle passenger.

On the negative side, the quality of interiors don't look to be premium when compared with City, possibly a measure of cost cutting. The entire dashboard seems to be gray color as compared to City which had a mix of black, silver and chrome. Maybe top variant of Jazz will have them.

re: The 2015 Honda Jazz (3rd-gen)

The Jazz looks simply gorgeous on the outside. Along with the Punto, this is definitely the best looking hatch. It has been on my radar as an potential upgrade ever since I learned about the relaunch. But TBH, the interior is a bit of a let down. After seeing the all new city, I was expecting some changes in the Jazz too. I hope this is a mid-variant and the top spec version will have Climate Control and Steering Mounted Controls (Even the previous version had one). Since it is going to compete with the likes of i20, the above features are absolutely necessary. I would go for the fully loaded Jazz any day over the i20, even if it comes at a premium.

The issue in Honda's hand is to price Jazz between Brio and City. City, remember has very visible cost cutting measures. To keep cost low Honda will have to take that forward to Jazz also.

re: The 2015 Honda Jazz (3rd-gen)

Unfortunately it looks like the new Jazz will be launched only in the third quarter of next financial year which is Oct-Dec.

In a recent interview to ET, Jnaneswar Sen has confirmed launch of Mobilio in the second quarter which is Jul-Sep.

He said, " We would be entering the MPV segment for the first time with 'Mobilio' in the second quarter of next financial year and we would be re-entering the premium hatch back segment with the Jazz. The MPV Mobilio will be launched in the Q2 of financial year 2014-15."

Given this, it is highly unlikely that Honda will launch both vehicles in the same quarter. They would create a gap of at least 4 months depending on response to Mobilio and backlog if any for City and Amaze.

They have not yet decided on the exact launch date for Jazz

re: The 2015 Honda Jazz (3rd-gen)

I checked out the new Jazz (Fit) during Canadian International Auto Show and found that the top variant has push button start, leather seats, leather wrapped dashboard, ACC when compared with mid variant.

Also the quality of interiors feels far better than the ongoing version of Jazz (Fit) in North American market.

I hope Honda India does not skip on ACC and push button start in at least top variant.

re: The 2015 Honda Jazz (3rd-gen)

Following article is a shocker for me. Honda will launch Jazz in March 2015. While all senior people at Honda did talk about launch of 2 new cars in the FY14-15 and technically March 2015 fits in that, I am surprised that Honda has decided to launch Jazz after a year from today. Very disappointing.
