Great !! Honda not launching Jazz in India is really funny. I guess they are considering 2 factors mainly. First, it was flop previously, so they are not very keen to launch it in India. Secondly, they must be thinking that it will be cannibalize the sales of the Amaze. Honda should launch this ASAP and strengthen their portfolio. It will give much needed variety to their portfolio. Even if it doesn't sell in huge numbers, it should be fine. Look at Fiat, even with small numbers they are making, they are staying in the market (for their fans we can say ). Similarly Jazz should have some takers for sure.

It appears that Honda could have started testing it in the country. The new Honda Jazz has been spotted in India. Pictures show the car parked at either the Honda plant of a dealership.

Happy to see the Jazz has been spotted. Looks like we can expect a launch very soon. The interior seemed devoid of features when the car was displayed at the auto expo and this is a big disappointment.
Honda is kicking some real bu** in the lower D segment with the City and this is because the car is feature rich. They have beaten Hyundai !! Now with the Jazz, they need to beat the new i20 which will continue to rule the roost if Honda launches a stripped down Jazz with no features. At the price they will launch the Jazz, all cars have ACC and Steering Mounted Controls. Be it the Polo, i20, or Swift.

It is good to see that the Honda Jazz has been spotted testing. Although I am unsure if it is going to be the next car that Honda launches in India. The next car, I think, will be Mobilio and the Jazz coming later in the year, possibly Q3 or Q4 of 2014. The ET interview with Jnaneswar Sen supports this because he specifies that the Mobilio will come in Q2 of 2014-2015 and that the exact timeline for the Jazz has not yet been decided.

As per following article in ACI, the new Honda Jazz is set for production from July this year at the Tapukara plant in Rajasthan.

I am eagerly awaiting the launch of the new Diesel Jazz. It may not be too powerful & noisy but I am bored of saloons and looking to replace my Civic with this.
I liked the old Jazz too but found it to be too under powered for my preference.

Or Honda should launch this with the 1.5 lit. Petrol engine.

Based on AutoCar professionals report, TeamBHP in its report says that Honda Jazz may be launched in Q2 FY2014-15. If indeed true then this is great news.

Surprisingly, the report claims that Noida plant will roll out 45,000 units of the Mobilio annually, while the Tapukara plant will manufacture only 20,000 units of the Jazz per year.

On second thoughts, in terms of number this seems logical because going by the demand, per month Honda may manufacture 7000 Amaze, 5500 City, 1500 Brio, 3750 Mobilio and 1666 Jazz, all adding up to 19400 units against capacity of 20000 units per month.

My only worry is that if Honda has earmarked lower production capacity for Jazz then it may price it higher to be profitable.

Consumer reports reviews the Fit/Jazz (US).

Overall, it is better than its predecessor, being more modern, refined and grown up.

Negative points they discovered are firstly, the steering is reportedly noticeably less feelsome than on the old model, and the CVT gearbox that replaces the old five-speed is whiney and unpleasant

Honda Jazz displayed in the Beijing motor show has the 1.5L engine (though we will be getting the 1.2). But I am surprised that Honda has removed the ACC and steering mounted controls from the same, but retained the Start/Stop option (same as what was displayed in the Delhi Auto Expo)!

IAB has put pics of the Auto Expo Jazz ( the Silver Jazz), i am assuming you mistook the same for Chinese Jazz. The Chinese Jazz is the Yellow one.

It is official, Honda is launching the Mobilio first and then naturally, the Jazz should come by the year end or in early 2015.
Honda has already started advertising the Mobilio on its website with a tag that says 'Honda's stylish 7 seater, the all new Mobilio, Coming this July'
