I personally like the look of the new i20, it's grown up to be more European now, looks to my eyes a segment higher, I especially like the rear, but having said that the front looks nice too. Let's wait and watch how the public responds to this.. IMO this would be a big seller, until the jazz arrives?? This battle looks interesting..

Confused about the looks. Though subject it is quiet quirky and will grab attention. The proportions are a bit off if going by the pics, the bonnet is too long as compared to the total length of the vehicle. The read bumper is too big which looks like the whole rear part of the car is divided into 3, 33% portions. Also, why the reverse lamp of the driver's side when it is a RHD vehicle?

Rear tail lamp cluster looks good; reminds me of Alfa Romeos.

However I cant digest the front fenders; they look super stretched and thin, perhaps the elongated headlights are making it look far worse.

Is the old i20 going to be continued and sold along with the new one ? I went to Hyundai showroom today and the SA there told me that old i20 is not going to be sold anymore.

I was about to just say that. Its an Alfa Romeo rear. very very european. I happen to really like this design. I am out in the market for Hatchback and i suddenly feel very positive when i was only looking at the polo as an option.

The launch is on August 11th.
Hyundai does one good thing, i.e. not make us indians wait for their updated cars. They treat us like how Germans treat the european market, RESPECT

They have again gone with a single reverse lamp . Why can't they just add another reverse lamp and make it look proportionate? Is it that expensive to add? And what is that thing which is protruding out below the rear Hyundai logo? Reverse camera?

Looks like the dashboard is having beige part on the top portion as compared to the pics shared by DeetJohn which had black interiors.

A telephonic enquiry to a Hyundai dealer in Pune confirms the launch of all new i20 on 11th August'14. Old model has been discontinued. Logically, Dealers aren't allowed to disclose its Pricing & Variants before 11th August.

As compared to the leak couple of days back, this variant of new i20 seems to a higher variant.

In the first pic you can notice additions like chrome door handle and body cladding. Also the tyres don't seem skinny, maybe 195/65R14

In the second pic you can see that this is Asta CRDi variant. Also there is a rear parking camera, reverse parking sensors and wiper.

I don't know if this is a photo illusion but Rear of this car looks like a body builder who has a small head and a muscular body. Also in first pic there is a silver i20 right behind the blue i20

I am liking it, looks very European and the design from the sides make it look really long. However, I still feel the Polo has the edge and looks better. The i20 may wow us now but a few years down the line the Polo will still be turning heads while we will be saying the i20 is not outdated .

The interiors, however, are still hidden & I am really interested in the interiors.

Thanks for confirming! Looks like the scoop by Indian Car Enthusiasts is correct. Expecting the car to reach the dealerships by 5th - 6th August as per ICE. Waiting for the interior snaps now!

Can't digest the front end looks, same problem as with the 2016 Innova having a long front overhang with a sharkish profile. May look elegant in a sedan, but in here looks disproportionate. Also can't understand the blacked out C pillar style. The Bolt was a worked upon Vista so can cut some slack, but this is an all new model and they could have at least aligned the blacked bit with rear door profile.

But, they can create magic by one single stroke. Plonk the new 5 A/T in the 1.4 CRdi. Then all the styling quirks will be gone.

Looks apart, i hope they have done something with the driving Aspect of the car, where in the Diesel Model is good to drive, Petrol version was a shame. No power, steering as if it is a toy car. I am very tempted to get one as a secondary car, but if they again compromise on the driving aspect of the car as per current Gen. It's a NO for me.

Wasn't this car supposed to be called 'Grand i20' ? I cannot spot 'grand' badging anywhere on the pics posted so far!
For some reason I still prefer the looks of the 1st generation i20.
