| ![]() I strongly believe that this could be a new i30 in India. As the current i20 with all bells & whistle are crossing 8-9 Lacs. If they again enhance the size & engine then it will break into Verna territory. May be i30 will open an all new segment in India. |

| ![]() Hyundai i20 recently received a midlife facelift in our market. Hyundai has started testing an all new i20 in Europe (Germany to be precise). The 2014 Hyundai i20 looks bigger than current model. The car is camouflaged but looks like the design language is not as fluidic as other models like Verna/Avante. There are many interesting changes in the design, a new front grille, rear door, broad C-Pillar with black tape, vertical tail lamps and all four disc brakes. The model may debut next year. The test mule looks like a production ready one so the debut may happen early next year. Source:- Wheelosphere Last edited by Technocrat : 16th August 2013 at 00:05. |

| ![]() Wow this looks super promising. Hyundai has changed there design language to fluidic precision for all its next generation models and one can see the curves have been toned down. The new styling adds muscle to the well accepted fluidic styling. This car is going to be a Swift beater for sure. |

Distinguished - BHPian ![]() ![]() | ![]() Looks good. Hope the car is under 4m. In other news, Hyundai is testing a WRC spec i20 with 3 development drivers, Chris Atkinson, Juho Hänninen and Bryan Bouffier. 2014-spec Hyundai i20 WRC Kicks Up The Dust ![]() Hope Hyundai puts the learning from this WRC programs into this new generation. Sorted handling and ride can make the i20 a complete package. ![]() |

BANNED | ![]() Nice looking car. Wish they would also consider launching the I30 and the Veloster here. I saw both these cars again abroad recently and they look very good indeed. |

Infractions: 0/1 (7) | ![]() The car looks quite brilliant! (pun intended) I like the way Hyundai is progressing with their design language. If the Getz Prime was a proportional, clean and pleasing design, the i20 had plenty of stylish cuts and creases. The facelift to the i20 gave it the fluidic sculpture design cues and made it look sophisticated and classy. This design must be the next step, the so-called fluidic precision, where the wild, free-flowing lines of the fluidic sculpture designs are toned down to create a mature design with a certain degree of timelessness to it. The car looks longer, wider and seems to sit lower than the current i20. Hyundai India must increase the GC, suspension travel and provide higher profile tyres for Indian road conditions. I wonder if the car will be less than 4m in length in order to be eligible for tax benefits? The specs are eagerly awaited! |

| ![]() Link to News Section The 1st generation Hyundai i20 was first launched in 2008 and the South Korean car maker gave the Fluidic design treatment to the i20 last year. However, the i20 Fluidic continues to be based on the same platform as that of the non-fluidic model. This means that the platform will be 6 years old in 2014. Therefore, it is about time for a new i20 based on an all-new platform. Apart from test mules of the new car being spotted internationally, the next-gen i20 has also been spotted in India. The new car is likely to see an international unveil next year. ![]() As demand for B+ segment hatchbacks grows in India, Hyundai is likely to launch the next-gen i20 here, soon after the car's international launch. Team-BHP's rendering artist AntlerRoad has put together a couple of speculative renders of the next-generation 2014 i20 hatchback. From the renders, it is clear that the 2014 i20's design geometry is a progression or evolution of the Fluidic design philosophy. The car is likely to get slightly larger considering the larger dimensions of the i20's direct competitor, the 2014 Honda Jazz. ![]() Along with the larger dimensions, expect the i20 to continue flying the flag of it being the segment leader when it comes to features and creature comforts on offer. The new i20 is likely to further raise the bar by offering those features and creature comforts only available in cars positioned a segment or two higher. Petrol and turbo diesel engines may be carried over unchanged. Both manual and automatic gearbox options could be offered, maintaining status-quo. An attractive price tag for the 2014 i20 sold in India is likely as Hyundai now manufactures diesel engines here. The ride and handling package of the current-gen Hyundai i20 hasn't been very inspiring. As Hyundai plans to launch a high performance car based on the i20 in 2015, the mass market model of the 2014 i20 hatchback is likely to benefit from the development of the high performance variant. Also, Hyundai now operates a test facility at Nurburgring, Germany. Hyundai's new engineering center at the 'ring is likely to add valuable inputs to the ride and handling package of the next-generation 2014 i20. | ![]() Looks like an extension of the Grand i10 design philosophy.Overall design of the car is quite nice but the blackened C-pillar looks really odd. ![]() |
