That one indeed was the picture of Amaze. Probably they understood the mistake a bit later, and updated with the pic of current City.

I wasn't impressed by the design. Now I don't know why ET removed / replaced the pic. Searched on the web... No where this pic exists. Damn I didn't save it. I was about to download it and decided against it as I was in a hurry (lesson learned!)

What you saw is the Amaze. It was a probably a stock image from the Amaze's India launch as it had a few persons in Indian dress dancing in the background. They probably realised the mistake and replaced the picture with the current gen City

This, I read elsewhere in this thread, is Crider which is supposedly going to be slotted between the CITY and the CIVIC. Lots of speculations. Time will tell

Having this in mind i called up a dealer here in chennai.

Sales Executive : Sir, we are not taking booking for city now.

Me: Okay, When are you starting booking for new city then ? what would be the diesel OTR ?

Sales Executive : Please give me your name and phone number sir, we will call you in the first week of November

I can see that many on the forum do not like the Crider's looks. I agree with them, it looks absolutely hedious. But the fake picture which is a photoshopped Amaze, I have just one word for it, HOT!

The city has been my favorite car as well. We went to book the city and ended up buying the Amaze. One of the reasons we were looking at the City was the price. At close to 12L INR and a superb engine , it always looked like a superb VFM sedan.

Now that Honda is plonking the 1.5 diesel in the new City , I am assuming the diesel versions would cost anywhere between 12 -15 L INR. Now , anything more than 14 L for a diesel sedan , we suddenly have many options.

Honda will have to be careful with pricing the new city for sure.

12lakhs? Were you looking at the automatic variant? We bought our car a year back. Paid 9.6lakhs for the VMT model without sunroof and leather seat covers.

Being a Team-BHPian, I can't ignore an error in the heading. The current Honda City is Fifth generation model so the next one should be Sixth Generation and not the Fourth Generation as mentioned by Economic Times.

Pardon them. They more mean like the 4th version/iteration (rather generation) of the Honda City in India. For a layman, the number 4th would be more relevant but obviously technically incorrect.

had been to solitaire honda at andheri. contrary to reportings, the staff was not at all keen to sell the city (to me at least). i enquired about the city and the SE answered about the amaze. this went on for sometime and then the SE dropoed the bomb,"sir, this is being phased out. why are you so keen on this? marketing will start end-nov and car is expected in early jan. no idea on the specs though"
