Re: Tata Motors announces Horizonext with 8 simultaneous facelift launches

The black interiors and the way the speakers are integrated looks really nice in the Blue Nano.

Black & Steel bezels in Tata cars, is it Karl Slym effect?

Good job by Tata and thanks Moralfibre for the details!

Re: Tata Motors announces Horizonext with 8 simultaneous facelift launches

All that Tata is doing now is damage control, as new products will still take a couple of years before coming to market.
Its good to know that the materials have improved in the cars, but frankly I do not know whether they will improve the sales. Apart from the CNG versions, the market has largely rejected the other vehicles including the once hugely popular CS which had created a brand new segment

Re: Tata Motors announces Horizonext with 8 simultaneous facelift launches

Thats nice of Tata. Hope the dual din HU is available on EX too.
The work on Nano looks good minus the decals like parrys said.

moralfibre: can you confirm that you found the fit and finish ( gaps etc) better?

Re: Tata Motors announces Horizonext with 8 simultaneous facelift launches

This is a great compilation with neat picks and short but sweet exact details. Thanks for sharing!

Seems like one of the neat event where many vehicles by the same manufacturer are launched. As aptly named title, this is true facelift. Unlike other manufacturers under the name of "all new vehicle" we don't expect the facelift! And probably that could be the reason they clubbed all these launches together. And we were thinking only new nano will be launched today.

I think its a great effort by Tata motors to extract that last bit of juice remaining out of those old war horses. Although, not sufficient still! Tata has long way to go still.

Re: Tata Motors announces Horizonext with 8 simultaneous facelift launches

thanks for the report, I am looking to get those Alpha alloys for my sunshine yellow nano.
I do sincerely hope that they sell the alloys without the decals package.
That green ring in the Speedo is a nice touch in the Nano CNG version.

Re: Tata Motors announces Horizonext with 8 simultaneous facelift launches

Rather than FACELIFT I would like to call these launches as FACESAVING move by TATA.
Finally we see some real changes. Good job Karl Slym and team. What next? Some Slimming work on TATA passenger vehicles?

Re: Tata Motors announces Horizonext with 8 simultaneous facelift launches

I feel all the facelifts were planned atleast couple of months months in advance unlike some decal pasting jobs .Good work Tata.
Also, the packages offered on Nano are quiet competitively priced .

If things keep going like this I may seriously consider a Tata as my next car 3 years down the line.

Re: Tata Motors announces Horizonext with 8 simultaneous facelift launches

Moralfibre, thanks a lot for a good report.

I hope the existing nano owners can upgrade their cars to the new things, esp the power window switch console.

The Alloy wheel design has remained the same, they should have provided a fresh design here in one of the variants.

Overall very happy to see these changes made in nano.

Re: Tata Motors announces Horizonext with 8 simultaneous facelift launches

Absolutely love the new Nano in all its variants specially in that blue shade. How I wish the Indian customer could mature enough to overcome the feeling of owning the cheapest car.
Hope Tata motors is able to deliver on all these promises of improving there quality and service experience.

Re: Tata Motors announces Horizonext with 8 simultaneous facelift launches

Well, The passenger car segment of Tata Motors is a bit of a weaklink in the India's Largest Automobile Company. In order to regain their 3rd place they will have to launch new cars, there is no other way. cosmetic facelifts might not work all the time.

I really hope that the Nano (and the Tatas) pick up on their sales.

I liked the paint job in Alpha Nano it looks smart.

Re: Tata Motors announces Horizonext with 8 simultaneous facelift launches

Tata has traditionally been good in the show off of their cars, but this is a genuine step ahead. Other than the Storme Expedition all the others are surely a result of the improvement drive that Tata is going on with.
Wish them all the success. Waiting to see them after 2 years.

Re: Tata Motors announces Horizonext with 8 simultaneous facelift launches

What's the point? Same old cars with a few new decals and colors...that does not change the fact that Tata cars are badly engineered and useless to drive and not durable either.

Tata needs to engineer new cars from the ground up and make contemporary high quality cars for the discerning Indian customer...gone are the days when one just priced a car cheap and it sold like hot cakes irrespective of the build quality etc.

Re: Tata Motors announces Horizonext with 8 simultaneous facelift launches

Good Job Tata!

For the first time I see the front bumpers properly aligned with the head lamps and the grille in the Indigo. Same with the rear bumpers in both the vehicles.

I am not sure if the InfoMedia screen would foul with the gear stick while slotting into 1st, 3rd and 5th gear in the Storme. Could the Gurus comment?

They could have :

1)Given the same Indica Steering to the Indigo cs as well. The one shown here in the Indigo looks old.

2)Moved the power window switches in the Indigo(ca) to where they are supposed to belong..the door.

3)Left the Speedo console in Indigo untouched. It now looks lifted off from yesteryears' cars.

Re: Tata Motors announces Horizonext with 8 simultaneous facelift launches

A case of Old wine in new marketing plan.
The sumo doesn't look much different to my 1997 example and the indica/go's internal door lever still resembles the one from the pre-2000 original.

Dear Tata, It's going to take a whole lot more.
You're still behind times.

Re: Tata Motors announces Horizonext with 8 simultaneous facelift launches

Quite happy with what Tata has done. I hope things will improve and evolve under the present leadership and we can see Tata giving good fight to Hyundai for the number 2 position in medium term.

Once again - My personal take is that Reliability has to be boring and that's what Tata need to develop as a habbit that no one wants to have an event when it comes to reliability, I still remember the old Hero Honda Adv. (Fill it, Shut it and Forget it), same should happen for Tata which has been done successfully by the bigger T (Toyota)

God bless Tata - Good job !
