The car in the picture is the Kia Picanto. If Hyundai can bring this with the 1.1 crdi engine that would be something. The 1.1 litre crdi engine produces a healthy 74HP and 15.6 kgm@1900 - 2750 rpm. They would probably project this as the Swift Diesel's competitor and that would allow them to price the Getz Diesel a lot higher.

Kia's vehicles always look much better than their elder siblings...even though they're based on the same (and sometimes older) Hyundai platforms.

74 bhp may be in the international version... But its sure to be detuned for indian fuel...

Its sure to be battered by the swift deisel, which was developed by fiat, and was the engine of the year in its category... IS also the lightest deisel in its category in the world...

and Getz maybe not so powerful , but Xing erlx is sure better on tarmac.

It is a Kia Picanto not a photoshop or anything. The only reason it looks like the Santro is coz' KIA is owned by HYUNDAI.

CHECK THIS OUT!!! >>>>>KIA PICANTO WEBSITE<<<<<<

Thanks

The 3 pot Crdi in the Hyundai Accent is not developed by Hyundai it was developed by Daimler Chrysler, anyways this same 3 pot Crdi engined Accent was rated as the worst car of the year by Top Gear UK... The simple fact is the engines developed by Hyundai are not good, they are good as family cars and thats it, Hyundai cannot and should not market their cars as performance oriented.. Its ethically wrong!!
And yes the car in the pictures is the Kia Picanto and they do plan to introduce a 1.1 Crdi engine for that segment but it wont be introduced in the car shown here, it'll be here in a newer generation version of the Santro (Source: Autocar).
