Just see the thickness of doors and the thud with which they close.
No matter how much they improve, they will never be able to achieve the reliability and quality of Europeans, forget about Japs. Storme is good but then you have to live with just too many niggles which one realises only with owning it.

The 2nd pic shows that they are leaving the whole body shell literally intact (thus saving the entire cost on making new dies) and redesigning the stuff inbetween the pre-existing gorges (read hood, grille, front bumper and hatch). This is typically a cobbler's job in the name of a face lift.

Yes. You are right. The European cars don't give any niggles. They just end up on a flatbed. I know one person who threw the key of his Merc at the dealership and stormed out fuming after he had had enough of his Mrerc's niggles. I saw similar incident last year about a BMW 3 series.

Agreed but no matter how much we may hear these anecdotal experiences about the European cars, anyone would admit that our local manufacturers cant hold a candle to Skodas & VWs, not even to the Koreans!

Re: Rumour: Renault Duster to get extensive Facelift this year

Pics on the first post make the car look immature, incoherent. Typical DC?

The latter ones look much classier. I hope Ghosn reigns in on such DeCi inspired overzealous design and saves us with something subtler.

Also a radical redesign will only antagonize much of Renault's early customers, making them feel cheated and to add insult to injury, see much of their million rupees wiped off in an instant during resale. Renault can learn a thing or two about redesign from Toyota vis-a-vis Innova.

I don't see any major changes at all. All it seems from the disguise is that its getting some tweaks to headlight and taillight. Maybe clear lens, projector lens, LED. Hope it gets some interior upgrades as well.

Interior does look better at first glance. But 1-din audio looks archaic.

With such presumably minor updates, the new version should come to India sooner rather than later.

The interiors looks more or less the same to me. Not sure what trim it is but wish they would fix the ergonomics (of everything from seats to steering mounted controls).

Re: Rumour: Renault Duster to get extensive Facelift this year

New headlights , grille and bumpers are going to differentiate this car at the front, and similar changes will be operated at the back.
The changes will be about function more than looks. Inside would reain the same, but will adopt the chromed and restyled instrument cluster straight from the Logan.

Re: Rumour: Renault Duster to get extensive Facelift this year

Duster facelift revealed ahead of its debut in frankfurt

The Dacia Duster facelift which is to be presented at the forthcoming Frankfurt Motor Show that starts on September 10th, was revealed today through two press shots.

The front end gets a redesigned grille made of two chrome-plated bars, a new air intake and new double-optic headlamps featuring daytime running lights.

Freshly detailed stoplights, a chrome-plated exhaust tip and new “4WD” lettering round out the differences at the rear.

No significant changes at the rear and sides.

Headlamp unit looks good with DRL.

Facelift duster vs terrano. my vote is for terrano

On the inside, you see steering mounted controls, upgraded dashboard, chrome inserts on the handlebar, MediaNav touchscreen infotainment system (already on offer in Indian version current Duster).
