Re: Supposed spyshots of next gen Ford Figo surface

Isnt this the same Kinetic styling language used by the earlier Fords? like the Fiesta? I like the way it looks, especially the front. Rear-side looks like the Hyundais which is a thumbs down!

As a pre-facelift Figo owner, this is exactly what worries me.

Cheers,

Front looks smashing.

Hatch is cleverly smart to liberate good boot space, however the side profile is plain, not in tune with front & back IMO.

Overall design gives a sense that space inside will be at par, if not more than current Figo.

Looks really awkward from certain angles. For example, what's with the front overhang? And the nose is way too high in relation to the base of the windshield, probably owing to European pedestrian safety regulations.

I just hope that there would be a restyle before it is launched in India. This is a case where 'one Ford' may not work the best, since non-Euro markets do not have the same restrictions.

HI

Great Scoop.

However, the heavily camouflaged car doesnt look like a Ford.

In all aspects, it looks more of a VW.

Also, the tailights looks to be the best part in whatever could be deduced from the scoop.

Bring it on Ford!!

Re: Supposed spyshots of next gen Ford Figo surface

Last two three years we saw many head turners from Hyundai. I think now it is Ford's turn. After huge success of EcoSport in compact SUV segment now Figo is going to make a splash in hatchback segment. It looks like a scale model of an Aston Martin. Hope it will be the real deal. Some thing like this one is really required to revive Ford Figo.

Re: Supposed spyshots of next gen Ford Figo surface

Which platform is this going to be underpinned? There had been two sources of information - one saying it would be modified Mark V Fiesta Classic's platform whereas the ACI info says this is going to be taking the Fiesta/EcoSport's floor pan. Which one of these is true?

The architecture is borrowed from the old Fiesta and they used thinner gage steel to cut weight.

Excerpts from autoevolution.

Although no official mention of this is made, the Brazilian Ford Ka will also replace the Ford Figo in India.

Two engines will be available from launch, a 1.0-liter three-cylinder, basically a non-turbo version of the EcoBoost, rated at 80 PS. There will also be a 1.5-liter with 111 PS that will be compatible with ethanol.

All i can say, is that this is a rip off the new escort shown at the shanghai motor show this year. For that matter we know what the sedan would look like. Distinctly, i remember some magazine saying it was going to be a china only model for the time being.

the front front fascia of 2013 Ford Fusion; especially the trapezoidal grill and the head lamps. See the picture below for similar front design cues.

Re: Supposed spyshots of next gen Ford Figo surface

Production of the new Ka could commence in the month of March or April, following which the hatchback could be seen in Brazilian dealerships in the month of May.

Quote:
The new Ka will replace the Fiesta ROCAM in Brazil and Prices are expected in the region of 30,000-45,000 Brazilian Reals (INR 8.18 lakhs to 10.9 lakhs)

Re: Supposed spyshots of next gen Ford Figo surface

I really hope Ford throws in the 'Microsoft Sync' feature, along with 'keyless-entry-go' for good measure. That should allow them to take the fight to the likes of the Hyundai Grand i10 and the 2013 Nissan Micra. A Titanium (O) variant with these features + the EcoBoost engine should make for a truly mouth watering prospect. Ford, I hope you're listening!
