9091/bhp for the Civic in 2006.
You just couldn't start a rupees per NM thread, could you, Mr. M3
Yup, the wait for the Mini has been killing me, so my mind's been all over to compensate! But it's fascinating to see people's responses particularly in the "If I could only own ONE car" thread!

And yup, I'd be nuts to do a rupees per NM thread! Truth is it's less exciting anyway!

Re: Rupees per BHP! Cars with most bang for the buck

Can we do it for base petrol and base diesel of the same car and since its going to be petrol versus diesel, lets also look at torque figure.

Also, where same engine is used across various models and manufacturers - say the Fiat Multijet. It will be quite an eye opener

Can we?

Re: Rupees per BHP! Cars with most bang for the buck

Interesting Thread!

Interestingly, India's largest selling SUV, Bolero, is quite expensive from this view:

Base DI Non-Ac Ex-showroom: 565566
Bhp: 63
Rs/BHP: 9122

On the flip side, what car would have the worst Rs/Bhp value?

Cheers,
Adi

Re: Rupees per BHP! Cars with most bang for the buck

Here is the bucks/bhp comparison for the car which ruled indian roads for almost four decades and often referred as the king of indian roads in its good old royal days.

Ambassador 1.5 DSZ

Bhp rating : 35.5 Bhp (Source : Ambassador Website)

Price : 4,50,000 rupees (Source : Top Gear India website)

$$$/Bhp = 12,676 Rs

That is very expensive for a car that looks like a century old.

Also, it would be great if we do the same analysis for two wheelers. Since two wheelers does not have many variants, that would be easy to compare too.

My Pulsar 220
Price when i bought it : 79k
Bhp :21
$$$/Bhp : 3761 Rs

Re: Rupees per BHP! Cars with most bang for the buck

The top end corolla altis D4D costs nearly 18L on road in bangalore. That makes it to Rs. 20000/bhp . Even if the base version retails at 15L, it comes to Rs. 16666 per bhp. Going by the context it is maybe the least BHP/money car locally made AFAIK.
