Fast? Scary
Grip? Leech-like
Looks? To die for
5 seater? Yep
Boot? Umm, yes
Race track, favourite highway, city traffic, mall, airport....she's at home.

Enough said:

Money bar or no bar, my choice would be a Renault Duster. I don't want to buy a high end car and then struggle with it on a daily basis in Bangalore roads fearing scratches and dents and a high repair cost. Neither would I want to struggle for space when I need it and have to compromise on highway ride when I need it and also drive in places like Kuthiran in any season.

RANGE ROVER 4.4 L SDV8
Luxury: Check, S Class territory.
Offroad: Check, tried and tested
Airport runs: Check
Pace: Check, 700Nm, nuff said
Track: Hmm...well i can live with its no track charachter
Badge: Check, its a legend

If not that, maybe a Fortuner 4X4 MT for a much realsit scenario.

If there was only 1 car I could have, it would be the Alto 800. I will love it's practicality in the city (due to small size) over everything else. Also since it would be small, it will mean that it would be taken out of the driveway and driven more often everywhere and that what petrol heads are for :thumbs up Live to drive!!

Well, first of all I think this question can be answered very well by a person who has had the luck of using on a day-to-day basis a wide variety of cars, as you can discuss all the features etc. of a car in very detail, but when you actually start using the car you realize its shortcomings and plus points. I know a person who has had in his garage - C-class, 7 series, Q7, A6, Accord, Jazz, S-class - I don't know the exact models, but I'll do ask his opinion about this very interesting question.

In the meantime, I would say that even though my Getz CRDi ticks several points - good for highway as well as city, decent comfortable seating for 5, easy to park, not very expensive to maintain - just one thing it doesn't have a very large boot. For this, I'll say Toyota Etios Diesel top variant, considering Indian roads and other conditions prevailing in our country, I'll avoid expensive imported cars, but that's my personal choice. Perhaps, stupid:

Only those for sale in India- sorry Toyota 86, have to let go...

Parking, congested lanes- pardon King LC200 and all the Mercs,BMWs..

highway running, space versatility - out all hatches, sedans

A lil' bit big for small lanes, mediocre engines n all.. but then a single car is always a compromise. Toyota Innova it is......

But realistically gonna stick with an Amaze or Ertiga.

Have to ask: why not your M3??

Am guessing it has something to do with the lack of rear doors + space?

Without a second thought my choice is the Mitusbishi Lancer Evo X. Since it's put to sleep now I would go for the Skoda Laura VRs :D

My answer for this hypothetical question has remained the same ever since the "Full Fat" Range Rover went on sale in India....

...assuming, of course, that I am allowed a taxi ride home when it breaks down! :D:uncontrol

Since this is fantasy game anyway, if the limitation of the car being currently on sale in India is ignored for a bit, the Lancia Delta Integrale is what I would like to own. So while I would be driving:

Superb Thread!!!

My choice would be a Maserati Quattroporte in Black!!!

Nothing else would do:D

Droooooool

RR Evoque or Fiat 500 Abarth or Mitsubishi Evo X or an MG 413W ......... Whichever is available with the nearest dealer in black :D
Nobody dare ask an enthusiast a single car as final answer :p

A red Evoque with black wheels. Oh Yeah!!!

It has the looks, the features, the practicality, and is tough enough to handle the worst Indian roads can throw at it.

God, I just simply LOVE that thing!!

Well if I had to choose that one car - I would have been thinking about a lot of fancy cars but then given the fact the roads we get to drive on, my daily car is going to be a pure pratical workhorse with good realiability and service backup.

I will like to stick to a Suzuki Swift which I current drive daily but ofcourse with some fancy setup, wish I could get the Swift Sports 1.6 with turbo and a good suspension (from factory)- I think it clicks on the right boxes for me interms of daily ride.

I can just shift my ICE to it and fall in love with driving it - all together with a new dimension.

Mine would be the Corvette Sting Ray. The 1963 version for me is the one that would be the best. Interestingly, the Corvette Stingray is making a come back with 500 cars in 2013 at over $75k.

The M3 is damn near perfect, but it's a 90% car! It manages to cope with 90% of our stuff. It's a little bit bigger than I'd like and the ground clearance can't quite cope with our worst speed breakers and steep driveways. So if I had to have only one car there would definitely be times when I was limited in what I could do / where I could go. For the most part, however, it's absolutely spot-on for me, much more so than even the "portly" M5 above! ;-)
