while the toothy design suits for the hatch, if nissan does something like the render above i am sure they will be driving a lot of people away as the face of this car really looks like it came out of a cartoon!

Sunny had a rather odd looking rear profile, hope they give it some more creases and make it look aggressive.

Weeks ago, at the sidelines of the Nissan Micra Facelift and Micra Active launch event, the Japanese car maker announced that the Sunny sedan is due for a facelift in the coming months. A Chinese automotive website, Auto.Sohu in this case, is carrying spyshots of the facelifted Sunny sedan.



The Nissan Sunny is a global car model sold in many countries across the world under the Sunny, Almera and Versa badges. The Sunny is also sold in the China, and the Chinese media are speculating a September launch for the facelifted model of this car, with a reveal likely at the Chengdu Auto Show.

From the spyshots, it appears that the facelifted Nissan Sunny derives inspiration from the recently launched facelifted Micra. The Sunny facelift's headlamps feature an edgier design. The front bumper, fog lamp inserts and grille also see changes. The alloy wheels are redesigned while the rear bumper and chrome detailing also get refreshed.



On the inside too, the Nissan Sunny is expected to see changes through the usage of more premium materials. Engine and transmission options could remain unchanged given the fact that the Sunny is barely 3 years old. The Sunny sedan is Nissan India's best selling car model.

The C-segment sedan, known for its capacious leg room, comes with two engine options: a 1.5 liter HR15DE petrol engine outputting 99 Bhp-134 Nm and a 1.5 liter K9K turbo diesel engine outputting 85 Bhp-200 Nm. With Indian car buyers's propensity to gravitate towards diesel engined cars, the diesel variant of the Sunny brings in the lion's share of sales volumes.

The Sunny is offered with a 5 speed manual gearbox as standard while the petrol powered model can be specified with a CVT automatic gearbox. In India, the Nissan Sunny has spawned a badge engineered model in the form of the Renault Scala C-segment sedan. Together, these sedans manage average monthly volumes of 2,000 units. Both the Sunny and the Scala are built at the Renault-Nissan joint manufacturing facility at Oragadam, off Chennai.

This looks much better than the Overdrive image. I liked the i20 style chrome strip on the front fog lamp casing and the chrome strip on the boot lid above the rear number plate looks good IMO.
Though I wonder if we will get the sunroof here in India.

The redesigned front looks a lot like the Nissan cars sold in USA and looks much better than the current one. I do wish they would change the styling of the rear door and window which will improve the looks a LOT!

Not much changes to current car. The chrome garnishing may come to Indian market but alloy wheels may specific to China. The chrome linings of the fog lamps is similar to Hyundai Verna. Anyways Nissan Sunny is best known for it's value for money image.

Adjustments and changes are minor at best and while it may have brought it up to an updated design theme not sure if this is going to do anything to boost sales.

The Sunny facelift has been launched in Thailand. Changes include a different grille, redesigned headlamps, new foglamp casings, new alloys, redesigned central console with a 2-DIN 6" DVD player, all-new steering wheel and a redesigned rear bumper.

The Sunny facelift will be debuting in India at the Auto Expo 2014 as well, with a scheduled launch shortly afterwards.

Hi all, Reports confirm that Nissan will launch the facelift Sunny in the month of September. The facelift Sunny was showcased at the Auto Expo last month. It now gets a larger front grille, redesigned headlamps; making the front profile look aggressive. The rear too gets some chrome treatment and now it does look a lot more stylish. The exterior has received some good cosmetic upgrades to differentiate it from the current model.

Was of the same opinion when the car was launched, but surprisingly the majority seems to like it.

Reminds me of a dolphin which its stubby nose and long tail.
