re: Maruti Stingray (WagonR) - Launched @ 4.09 Lakhs

Some images from Suzuki Japanese website. Looks good in those pics, but somehow the one we are getting here looks not so! Color does matter?

The major spoilers upfront- the Chrome strip is not flush fitting with the bumper & the distracting black housing for the fogs.

re: Maruti Stingray (WagonR) - Launched @ 4.09 Lakhs

And somehow I feel this is in direct contrast to the new i10 flavor. Isn't this too high speced for the money in which this sells. It can't ask for more but if it sits in the same price bracket it will set an uneven playing ground <6 L. This is good for me as a customer, but it puts a lot of pressure on competition. But, somehow I am not sure if this will generate a better market share or will keep the current numbers in its place. Lets say for starters it will change the entry level (minus the Alto) good car segment. Its nice to see Maruthi do it, I was hoping it will be the Korean.

re: Maruti Stingray (WagonR) - Launched @ 4.09 Lakhs

I own a Wagon R 2012. From inside everything looks similar except the color of the dashboard, the music console & the steering mounted music controls. As per the AutoCar report it is expected be priced around Rs 40,000-50,000 more than the current model. But for what? The only practical improvement is the steering mounted music controls. I do not think it really worth over the existing model.

Turn indicators on the ORVMs are also missing in the speculated Indian Stingray.

Also the rear end looks like the regular WagonR for a casual observer.

To justify that price increase, they should also throw in navigation and reverse camera.

I am contemplating between the Brio and the StingRay, for a second car in the family.

Isn't Fiat saying 'Make a move'?
Maruti should think out of the box for this innovative product.
