Chevy Spark Is Only Subcompact Car To Pass Crash Test

So Chevy beat it seems is the only HB which passed the US Crash Test rating

http://www.thestreet.com/story/12258...rash-test.html

Mind it Chevy Spark in USA is same as Chevy Beat in India.

Re: Second generation Chevrolet Beat (Spark, internationally) coming in 2015

The next gen spark spied in Korea.

It will be formally introduced during this year as a 2016 model. It will likely get GM's new 1.0-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine.

@ Soumyajit9 Exactly my thought

How will they name it in India? "Grand Beat 10"

Jokes apart, It is not that bad. Wheels are looking 15" and rear room had grown too.

Cheers!

That masked oval shaped badge on the grill doesn't seem to match either Chevy/Daewoo/Holden logos.

It's not an oval, just a quirk of the masking tape. Zoom into the pic and the Chevy bow-tie is apparent beneath.

The headlamps somewhat resemble those of the Alto k10. IMHO the facelift doesn't seem to be much appealing. The current version seems far better in the looks, looks more muscular, while featuring a more robust design as a whole.

Even I dearly hope for this, but unfortunately if you look at the rear door handles, that seems like a beat to me right there.

Ha ha I realise that i just don't want this to be a Chevrolet so badly that I am beginning to hallucinate . OT Chevy really is going down the drain in India wish they would at least get the sonic twins here

Re: Second generation Chevrolet Beat (Spark, internationally) coming in 2015

There was a time when some Korean cars styling were too quirky and over the top such as the 2001 Hyundai Sonata or Elantra. This was followed by some sober succesors and then a neater fluidic approach which looked good one some of their models such as the new Elantra but not so on the Eon and Verna. I do like the toned town Fluidic 2.0

In a similar fashion I liked the cute old Daewoo Matiz, not so the quirky Chevrolet Spark.
I do like the youthful look of the existing Chevrolet Beat but they have completely gone back to the old Korean ways of lifting bits from their Japanese or Korean counterparts.

This Beat looks like a generation older than the current one. The headlights look like the old facelfited i10.
The bumper of the Grand i10. The side profile as that of the Celerio with some cuts here and there.

Hopefully if they price it right it should sell, but seeing Chevrolet's dismal sales its better they do not launch.

Re: Second generation Chevrolet Beat (Spark, internationally) coming in 2015

I agree that the next generation Beat takes a few styling cues from Hyundai and Kia. GM is going to sell a badge-engineered version of this car as the Opel Karl in Europe (& Vauxhall Viva in the UK). I've no idea which version will get rebadged as a Holden for Australia. It has a different front end (a somewhat similar nose to the Sail twins) with regular rear door handles, instead of the concealed ones as on the current Beat. Does it look better than its Chevy twin? I don't know:

With the Chevrolet brand being withdrawn from Europe, the upcoming Karl/Viva twins will succeed two very different cars in the European market - the current European Chevy Spark (our Beat) & the Opel/Vauxhall Agila (a badge-engineered Suzuki Ritz/Splash).

Chevrolet badly need to bring this car to India ASAP and make it succeed, in order to create a buzz and stop/reverse their gradual decline in the Indian market. This is the one that has the potential to sell in numbers and act as their bread-and-butter model for the next few years. They should go all out aggressive with this one, IMHO.
