August 2013 sales: MSIL up by 52%, TKM down by 14%

Maruti Suzuki:

Domestic car sales for the month of August 2013 were 76,018 units.

11,305 cars were exported by the company in the month.

Grand total - 87,323 units

Toyota:

The monthly domestic vehicle sales for August '13 were 12,007 units.

Exports accounted for 3,194 units.

Grand total - 15,201 vehicles

August 2013 sales: Hyundai remains flat (up 0.19%)

Hyundai:

Domestic car sales for August 2013 were 28,311 units.

Exports surged by 28.87% (over the same month last year) to 24,008 units.

Grand total - 52,319 cars

Waiting for Ecosport and Duster numbers. Hope Renault learns the lesson that they cannot get away with overpricing that they did in Duster.

With i10 Grande due to be unveiled tomorrow, Hyundai might have cut down production on the other vehicles to have a minimum capacity ready for the new i10 by launch, which would only leave the factory this month. Expect Hyundai numbers to be better next month.

Does it even matter now? In the last 1 year Renault mopped up enough dough from the Duster than what Ford would earn from Ecosport in the next 3 years at least. That is why time-to-market is so important in the business world.
