A beautiful car indeed!

For all the engine's discussions, well, we don't get much space and option to pull 100 horses in the day to day bumper traffic. MSIL is garnishing this DDIS engine beautifully with the YL1

I can't help hopping onto this thread from time to time How do we know that the saloon in the pictures, is an LDi variant? If it is, then that's pretty impressive because it seems to be equipped with indicators on the ORVMS, fog lights AND projectors. WOW!
Seriously hoping we get a well tuned version of the 1.4K series motor and even though it doesn't seem to be on the cards, an automatic please!

The reason I bought an SX4 back in 2007 over the Honda City was that the ZXi version had airbags... safety is important to me. I hope that Maruti goes further and offer 6 airbags plus other safety features on the top end version. Also hope that Maruti doesn't do an A-Star with this ... the SX4 was/is a good car for India with a high clearance and good mechanicals... all it needs are exciting interiors and excited designers.

you are a magician. i asked for the interior pics and there it is .The interiors looks fresh and not the same as Swift. Any idea of the quality of plastics, is it soft touch?
No extra airbags and ESP-not even as optional is disappointing.

what else can you tell us about creature comforts available?

Wondering what what will be the Value add from cost perspective? The same engine from DZire (Diesel) and almost similar size and features. Any idea how is Maruti planning to price this?

You get 15 more horses from the factory, a better product overall and also looking at interior pictures I can say quality is miles ahead compared to what you get now. Moreover, the Dzire IMO is not a real sedan and just a swift with some extra boot space.

YL1 looks ready to hit the showrooms !! where were they testing it ? Is it ready to launch in India this year ? No one had spotted test mules on Indian roads isnt it ?

The car looks premium to me both inside and out. Wondering how the rear leg room is going to be. If that happens to be at least as much as SX4 or better, this car is bound to be a hit.

Thumbs up for Suzuki. Maruti, please price it well.

The interiors seem heavily inspired by the Vento! Why does Maruti continue to provide cheap looking steering wheels?

For a change, a job well done - from whatever information is currently available. Interiors definitely have a plush look and premium feel, definitely a class above the Ertiga. If they price it right, its going to be a sure shot winner. Only thing that looks disproportionate are the skinny wheels.

The the front grill reminds me of Maruti Baleno. Overall this car seems to be a winner for Maruti.

Many thanks - this seems to be the Scoop of the year

Long coming.. SX4 should be replaced, not sold alongside.. If they can launch it by the festive season, they will have a grand ending for the year!

re: Team-BHP SCOOP: Maruti Ciaz / YL1. Scoop Pics on Page 99

Awesome Scoop there!
This is what Maruti has always needed, a practical sedan that looks proportional and handsome, will be a tough contender for sure. The current SX4 was never really a segment leader ( touted as a serious threat to the City during launch, though ) This car looks neat, so the Next gen City needs to be very much bothered, as the Verna already has stolen its crown.

The interiors are very clearly inspired by the VW Vento, definitely not a bad thing, as I have always regarded the chrome highlights in the Vento's cabin to be subtle and extremely effective. A definite thumbs up to Maruti Suzuki for the new SX4!
