The buy back value depends on the term of the buy back (4 years being the longest), and the annual mileage (20K KM/year being the highest).

This sounds like a Leasing program, renamed as Buyback. Haha

The noise levels inside cabin were surprisingly lower in 530D.

This is not leasing. You may see it more close to a balloon payment option on the loan.

Till June, they were offering an interest rate of 7.9% after all negotiations of your case goes through BMW Finance. This is pretty attractive considering that the user can divert finds you other avenues where the interest cost is higher (say personal loan / business loans payoff) instead of putting the amount on the car.

Also you have a fall back option regards to disposing off your car after the ownership period.

Yes but again, one needs to pay Interest on the Total cost of car whereas your principal is getting reduced only by about half or as per residual. Instead, if you get a car financed and then sell on your own, one will save much more than this program as your interest portion from emi will reduce at later months due to the decrease in principal amount.

Correct, you can pay the balance lumpsum or get it refinanced again or sell them.

Yes. If you have no other borrowing required towards the house or business (say) you can finance the car.

If you still have other borrowings that are above 7.9% then it is prudent to divert the monies there to reduce that loan. In short, capital goes where the cost of borrowing is higher.

My 530i has been home for the last 10 days. The dealer is unable to do the permanent registration as the RTO database only got updated for this model yesterday. Has been disappointing not being able to hit the road with the new car, despite having payed in full almost 3 weeks ago and taken delivery 10 days ago. Have complained to the dealer about their lack of planning and wrong expectation setting, since they had promised delivery and registration on August 7th itself.

In any case, while the beauty is sitting in the garage, thought to post a few pictures.

Re: The next-gen BMW 5-Series (G30). EDIT: Launched at Rs. 49.90 lakh

Drove the 520d and E220d back to back on the same stretch today in Jaipur. Even with ESP on and both the cars in Sport/Sport+ modes respectively, the bimmer felt much more agile and taut around corners. Also, I particularly felt that the ESP on the E220d was rather sensitive and kicked in frequently, limiting the power and my ability to oversteer around u-turns. Moreover, I personally felt that the driving position on the G30 was spot on; not so on the W213. The dead pedal on the Merc was a bit too small for my liking (shoe size 11.5).

However, once you take the back seat, its a completely different story. The new E has ACRES of legroom, especially compared to my old-gen W212 E350 and G30 bimmer. And after spending some time in the E's backseat, the lack of electrically operated sunshades on the bimmer was a huge downturn for me. However, the big Merc, at least for me, was too boring to drive with that 2L oil burner under the hood. Though I'm interested in the 3L V6s when it comes to oil burners, 82L on-road for the E350d just didn't feel right. Being in the market for a new luxury barge, my personal pick as an enthusiast out of the two will be neither the 530d or E350d though:- I'd rather go for a 530i with 5yr extended BSI and spend the money saved over the 530d/E350d on a custom sourced M-Sport kit, Akrapovic/M-Sport exhaust, and perhaps a tuning box later on during the ownership.

BMW Jaipur just received a 530i test drive vehicle, which I'll be driving coming Tuesday. Will update this thread with the driving experience once I get to drive the vehicle.

Any news on deliveries of 530D? If anyone has got their car pls update here. Dealers seem clueless on when the cars will arrive.

Anybody has a different answer?

Probably till Year end, most of the dealerships have got 4-6 units only. 530i is available with BMW though & as in past plenty of 520-D in stocks which I doubt will sell at full prices.

Has anybody heard from their respective dealers regarding the prices and their revision?

The new prices (revised GST Cess) may be applicable after Sept 9th is what I hear.

Are there any discounts being offered on 530i (G30) in Bangalore?

I guess with hardly any 530Ds out on the roads, BMW might have a hard time selling them after the price revision.

Re: The next-gen BMW 5-Series (G30). EDIT: Launched at Rs. 49.90 lakh

This price hike will certainly dent the sales of the big Germans. There was some talk about the car manufacturers asking the government to put off the change in the Cess till after the festive season. Not sure if that will happen but even if it does, I don't think it will help many 530d buyers unless they booked their cars back in June.

@84.monsoon, how's the car buddy?
