Nissan is on thin ice if you ask me.

The way they treat our market, they don't even deserve that thin ice

What's is this about any guesses?

Globally, this move beyond campaign was launched in 2021. Broadly it seems to be around launching their electric vehicle range.

Guess that's what is getting unveiled in India as well.

Are they hinting the launch of hybrid(e-power) technology in India. Their UK website says "unique technologies deliver above and beyond a traditional hybrid".

Hope so.

Earlier there was some unconfirmed reports of bookings for Nissan Kicks being stopped. The SA I was in contact with local dealership denied this though. Do we really have something interesting coming up ?? Another strong Hybrid would really make it interesting way forward.

I understand dealerships are not saying it upfront but indirectly hinting the same by saying that there will be a delay of around 4 months for delivery.Infact I have made a booking online last week.Dealership told about 4 months delay then I expressed my intention to cancel booking. They requested to wait for one week before cancelling.

Saw these cars in the parking lot of Worldmark, Gurgaon where Nissan have an office on 18th September. 2 Leafs were parked back to back with a few Kicks, a Patrol and an X-Trail(Happy to be corrected if I recognised any of these incorrectly).

Sorry for the poor quality of photos. They were just before we were paying for parking so couldn't stop to click.

Hoping it's one of these, probably Leaf with lower taxes on EVs, CBU/CKDs can be priced propeely.

Kicks 1.3T variant's production has indeed stopped for a few months as of now. (highly unlikely that it will resume).
There's going to be a new launch for sure. (rumours are that it will be a petrol only SUV)

Nissan India sold 7,265 in September, of which 3,177 units were sold here and 4,088 units were exported.

It registered a YTD growth of 18%, compared to the same period last year.

Globally, the X-Trail comes with a 1.5-litre turbo engine and also the same engine comes with an electric motor called the e-Power.

Nissan announced it will be evaluating some CBU products for India. It has already begun testing a few and the Qashqai is one of them.

In my opinion Qashqai should be localised since it is a competent international model in the range of Seltos/Creta. CBU will make it costlier and I doubt if people will see the value in it since the length is around 4.4m range.

Also they can't consider Compass as a competitor as the brand perception for Nissan in India currently is not the best.

The Qashqai is not a Creta/Seltos rival in terms of exterior size and pricing, much less so without Indian localization. The new Qashqai is already 4.5 m long, which is closer to the Jeep Compass, Skoda Karoq, VW Tiguan 5-seater, etc.

Since I am a newbie, can anyone confirm whether Xtrail will fall is Fortuner Segment or Xuv700 segment? If its Xuv700 segment then it should sell like hot cakes.

The 2021 Qashqai is quite close to the price of the Seltos in Australia. Similarly priced in Canadian and US markets as well.

I didn't know that the new Qashqai is 4.5m+ long. Even the Grand Vitara, Hyryder, Compass have similar dimensions. Guess, it boils to the brand perception, where Nissan lag behind in India.

Edit: Just saw the team bhp post that Nissan is considering Juke as the mid sized competitor to the Seltos, Creta, Hyrder, Vitara segment.
