From what I remember, the space was not very good and the headrests were also a bit weird. The high window-line added to the cramped feel as well. That said, the car was awesome to drive. Overall a great experience for the driver. I found the 1.5L engine quite adequate on Kerala roads.

Yes, it looks like they finally they gave in to the beige-is-premium mantra.

I agree that the 1.5 petrol was dull, wheather compare it with Honda's Vtec or Linea's Tjet. But I sincerely believe that it was in par with VW's 1.6 petrol, and perhaps better than the petrol unit on the Verna. Problem is that Fiesta deserved a better petrol engine.
The diesel on the other hand was good from day one. Perhaps comparing it with Classic's 1.4 duratourq, turbo lag is quite evident, but then turbo lags are there in all the diesel vehicles. Fiesta's 1.5 diesel is really good, probably I would love 10 more horses, but then to really match the excellent driving dynamics of this car, if I am in market for a 10L sedan, I would love to get the Fiesta and get it remapped to about 120 bhp, that would become a killer then.

It's in relative terms. The 1.4L TDCi (In Figo and Classic) though short on peak power output, was very tractable and power delivery was linear. In fact in stop and go city traffic I found the Classic to be much better. The turbo lag is more pronounced in the 1.5L TDCi. Also in comparison to the Fiesta's direct competition, the low end is what it is, low.

The Vento trumps the Fiesta on the straights and Fiesta trumps it in the corners. IMHO both cars can be tuned aftermarket (Engine or the suspension) to a certain extent to fix their respective short comings.

The rear headrests still seems to the same. It's a major inconvenience to the rear passengers. The ACI video shows that the car has keyless start like the Ecosport. More features and we are anticipating lesser price. Interesting to see if the localization has paid off.

+1. We had the same, when I tested the same before going with Duster. I test drove the car on NICE road and also on NH7. It was awesome to drive. But the rear seat, high windows and a dark interior gave a different impression to the family.

Re: New Ford Fiesta to be facelifted in 2014?

I hope they price it well this time around. I got a small TD last year before the Ecosport was launched and I absolutely loved the car. I only hope the alloy design is changed. The one's on test cars looks after-market,very boring and doesn't gel well with the rest of the car.

Is Ford offering ESP in the 2014 Fiesta or is this some bad copy-paste work ?

Re: New Ford Fiesta to be facelifted in 2014?

Well Ford did offer ESP on the Fiesta Petrol Automatic until last year, since this time there is no petrol auto maybe they decided to offer it on the Diesel Titanium ?

Seems like they borrowed a lot of styling aspects from its older sibling Focus. Looks great now. Hope they bring the version for the Petrol as well and price it sensibly.

Interesting find! I feel it could be a bad copy-paste work. But happy if I am wrong. It would be s segment first (in small diesel sedans) if they offer ESP.

No ESP offered on the facelifted Fiesta in any variant. That looks to be a random copypasta.

Wait for our official review....it's almost ready

The base version is definitely a lot cheaper than the City or Vento, but how does the top version compare to competition?

"The Fiesta Ambiente, priced at Rs 7.69 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) leaves out a number of features that the Trend (Rs 8.55 lakh) and Titanium (Rs 9.29 lakh) have, like fog lamps, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, auto climate control, body-coloured mirrors and door handles (they’re black instead), wheel covers, cruise control and footwell lamps."

If they offer this with the EcoBoost engine, oh, how badly I'll be tempted for an EcoSport to Fiesta swap!

Ford - Love you!

On the safety front, Ford hasn’t skimped with the new Fiesta. All trims get ABS with EBD as standard, and while the Ambiente gets only a driver airbag, the Trend and Titanium get a passenger airbag as well...
