Maruti has got this lovely Blue colour that they are adding on their new cars like the New Swift and the Stingray. I am in love with this colour and it does it's job of attracting attention and I love it.

Good click buddy.

Hell no! I would not want to buy a sporty car running on gas. But who am I? I believe most of the Wagon R's sold are either the CNG or LPG variants so, this makes perfect sense for the company.

Any plans for the CNG variant of the Swift, Maruti?

MOD NOTE:

The first post of this thread has been updated with detailed pictures of the StingRay.

Here's a closer look at the long front grille for example. Interesting!

Re: Maruti Suzuki Stingray : Picture Preview

Well what sort of a contraption is this? The wagon R itself is a boxy car and now these modifications. Honestly now sure on the intent of the stingray!

Re: Maruti Suzuki Stingray : Picture Preview

Hello,

I find the changes to Stingray (on comparision to WagonR) are only cosmetic & may not sell in large numbers. I mean given the increase in price people may chose to buy Ritz instead of going for WagonR upgrade.

Also the concept of Roof rails was introduced in Indian mass market by WagonR & somehow the car looks incomplete without them. I do not see any valid reason for removing the roof rails. Though there was no practical use of Roof Rails for Indian consumers, but did they gave the car a distinctive tall boy macho look.

Having said that, projector lamps, steering mounted controls & fuel efficiency meters are really welcome step.

Thanks,

Re: Maruti Suzuki Stingray : Picture Preview

The front looks like a bad blend of the Wagon R and the Ford Ecosport.

Tyres could have been a bit bigger which i think would have been far better aesthetically.

The designer mats don't cut it , a few colored squares thrown around , might have been better to stick with a solid black / charcoal grey which would complement the interiors. Really want designer mats then Maruti could have thrown in some 3D ones.

Projectors look good !!

Lastly wondering whether from a usability perspective the audio controls on the steering could have been distributed to both sides..... but this might not be a pain point at all . just wondering if it would have been better to have seek/volume controls on one side and mute/mode on the other for faster interaction.

Re: Maruti Suzuki Stingray : Picture Preview

The front looks a lot better. The last time i saw OEM projectors on a hatchback was in the Fabia! The presence of projectors makes the car look premium!

The tail lamp seems to be a downsized version of the Innova's. It has a striking resemblance to the Innova's tail lamp!

It looks like the design of the Headlamps is poor adaptation of the new Tata Safari Storm or Evoque

We have to tell it the other way - the original Stingray was launched in Japan years back. Seems like Safari has copied the head lamp design.

Re: Maruti Suzuki Stingray : Picture Preview

I had gone for some work on my WagonR to MASS, spotted a Stingray there. There has been work done in this facelift with complete change in the bonnet, bumper and the side fenders (sheet metal changes). I had thought of getting some tweaks from Stingray onto my Waggie but it looks to be a time and money consuming job.

Re: Maruti Suzuki Stingray : Picture Preview

Even Maruti's current flagship car, the Grand Vitara does not offer projector headlights but their A-seg offering does??? What's the logic........if there's any??

Re: Maruti Suzuki Stingray : Picture Preview

It's a classic love-or-hate design, the Stingray!

I, for one, since taking a good look at it, totally adore the way it looks and the way the makeover complements the overall presence and stance of the car.
