Re: Ground Clearance measurement rules for vehicles (SUVs) to change

You can be innovative by all counts but the babu will always outwit you.

Seriously, it is yet another failure of SIAM. Year after year they invite these babu's to their grand AGM and Gala dinners but really don’t have any worthwhile pro industry policy to show.

The Govt. needs all the money it can claim to pay for its wasteful expenditures.

Shameless Govt. Policies. They are ripping every hard earned penny of the people. In few days, they are going to rise the diesel prices too, which could be a huge damage to the diesel car sales. If they made stupid policies like this, the automotive world suffers a lot and ultimately, people won't buy the things like they used to. And that ultimately a loss for both Govt. and to the automotive companies.

Wish the Indian Gov't could made a policy like for example, the mandatory ABS and driver Airbag in the cars nstead of these stupid money making policies.

Re: Ground Clearance measurement rules for vehicles (SUVs) to change

Our babus are least bothered about the industry. Already industry is reeling under economic crisis and the govt is making auto maker's life miserable. Instead of making such crappy rules, they should use their energy for making some steps to revive the industry.

I hope everyone aware that how Ford EcoSport managed to be in 4mtr category. If babus continue in this way, the only option left with auto makers is come out with such innovative solutions.

Also can someone explain the logic behind not considering spare wheel while measuring vehicle length?

Like some friends suggested, they should tax vehicles based on other factors like vehicle category, fuel and emissions.
