Well actually there is more than just the 7-seater variant there.

Looks like these concepts and their underlying platforms will spawn a series of cars.
There is a compact crossover right behind the 45X concept, and then a sedan behind them both.

On the SUV platform, the 7-seater H5X following the 5-seater concept, and then a Volvo Cross-country like crossover sedan??

Interesting days ahead for Tata in the Indian as well as the global market!

Re: Rumour: Tata Motors planning 2 SUVs with Land Rover inputs

Well, its a concept ? What are they testing out on the roads then, just the mechanicals ?

They need to go easy on the rear of the car. Pull the rear glass bit down and remove the kink to make it a little flatter. On the other hand, the rear bumper seems small. Now a days cars have a huge bumper moving up to the waist line.

Nope, all are pure assumptions.

Barring Fortuner and Innova, 16L+ segment is not a volume segment, though with fat margins. If Tata has to gain volumes (I assume they will be surely looking for that than being a mere presence in higher segments), it has to target the XUV segment with a proper 7-seater SUV. That should put its 5-seater version automatically in the Creta price range.

Re: Rumour: Tata Motors planning 2 SUVs with Land Rover inputs

With people expecting the pricing to be between 10L-20L, am a bit confused! Maybe the 5-seater variant may start at around 18L on road. Going by Hexa's pricing, I am sure most of the variants will lie north side of the 20L mark. Expecting this vehicle to be anywhere between 10-15L is unthinkable! A difference of atleast 10L for the 7-seater variant might be possible compared to Hexa variant-wise, considering a years' inflation!

All this provided they provide all the components like the huge screen and touchpads as shown in the concept. For them to consider pricing it around 15L, they would definitely give the screen and other components a miss.

I'd say, from left to right:

x451 sedan, next-gen Nexon, x451 hatch, H5X SUV, H7X SUV, premium sedan.

Clean lines look good. Will they sell enough?
What you said is true. When the majority loves the XUVs and the H5X, the business will have change their designs if they have to sell. For the rest of the minority, Atleast for now, most of the European and American designers are still not affected by this radical changes. Hope it stays that way for some more time.

I think looking at the silhouette in the video:-

and the test mules(which seem the 7 seater) it looks like the 7 seater is more traditional SUV somewhat like the Discovery Sport is a subtler more sober rendering of the Evoque's looks. So there might still be something for the less radical tastes.

OK seriously I can't believe TATA did that. Must be something JLR gave them lot's of help with. Seriously hope it comes to Europe. Will it get the JLR engines?

No as per reports it will have a FIAT Multijet II 2.0 litre engine. The Ingeniums with JLR were too expensive

Does BS VI ready means it would just need BS VI fuel to be compliant with the norm or will it require any plug and play systems to be installed? Any idea.? I wish it does not mean that they will launch BS VI compliant newer versions when it is enforced.

Am I missing something here?
Go through the previous pages of this thread. Tata has been testing the Q50x twins under the Discovery body shell.

The top hat is Discovery's. The underpinnings of the test car are of the Q50x.

The concept is just that. They are not using the concept for testing or road trials. The end-product will have the underpinnings, suspension & engine calibration of these test mules, with a different top hat which resembles the H5X concept.

Why can't these test mules be for an upgrade of the discovery itself? We're talking of fiat's engine also. Not sure testing with new engine in the old body means much!

For one the mules are shod with much less premium tyres(Hexa style) than what one would expect on an LR. Secondly this is not the first time that a mule has been built using the body of another car Link

Just the same way Compass and Creta gets compared to XUV 5OO and Hexa.
Actually i meant comparing with regards to the cabin space. Is it not obvious that a 7 seater will have a bigger and spacious cabin than 5 seaters?
