Hyundai is going to launch two new models every year in India. On the cards is a 1.2 Litre hatchback. Since this includes variants, my guess is that it will be Getz with 1.2L engine to make most of the excise duty cuts on small cars.

Also the Verna is coming this year definately, and the Accent will not be phased out. Verna will be available in both Diesel and Petrol variants.

On the luxury front, Sonata Embera diesel will be launching this year. This should give the laura some competition.

On a completely different front, Hyundai will launch a one tonne payload vehicle, beginning its foray into the commercial segment. Looks like ACE is going to get competition

This is disappointing.

A 1.2 ltr Getz might not be necessary at all. The govt. is planning to change the 'length + cc' criteria for excise duty cut by taking 'cc' out of the equation. This would mean the Indica, Getz and Swift would get excise duty cuts and would cost about 10 - 20 K lesser. I am sure Hyundai is aware of this, as it was Hyundai and Tata who suggested the revision to the ministry.

Would that mean that its a fresh model from Hyundai. Maybe, but i don't see much rational, unless they are looking at exports.

well guys i read about the verna and the car seems to be just like a typical hyundai .... the interiors did not seem to be exciting but just neat n clean of what i can say. about the hyundai getz i think they planning to lauch a diesel 1.2l engine.

Hi all,
I recently bought Getz GVS. The car felt good on delivery but developed a faint engine noise on third day of delivery. This slight squeal is audible on pressing the accelerator. It vanishes as after car gains speed. The mechanic at the work shop says that there is no problem with the car. I want to know if you guys also hear similar sound on accelerating the car? Any reply help will be highly appreciated. Thanks.
