Man the civic and the safari were flying. Yeah it seemed lower and the tyres seemed broader as well.

The civic was able to hold the lane at one point whereas the Safari had to cut across. May have been intentional, but I'm impressed nonetheless.

YouTube - Tata Safari
I think the handling for a vehicle of that weight at 130 - km/hr looks great. I dont know if the GC has been reduced cause at that speed the vehicle would look lower due to Down force. And yes the wheels are surely larger, sad we didnt the side view of the vehicle and a good look at the wheels. At 130 i know that would be difficult to shoot. The vehicle looked comfy at that speed. I think TATA might hit the Jack pot with this one again.!! Hope they price it sensibly.......

Rajimine: One question were they testing this on the Expressway ? I thought all this testing was already done as this vehicle was being exported from a long time.

Great video though has put my hope really high now.....and think its going to be time to liquidate some assets

Yes, you can see it in one of the frames when they overtake.

Guys Guys. Now listen to this.

1.) Launch finally confirmed on 25th sep
2.) Launch in AP in first week of Oct
3.) The engine is nither 130 bhp nor 142 bhp. IT IS 143 BHP confirmed
4.) Rear spare will continue as removing it does not give a SUV look to the beast (as mentioned by TATAs)
5.) Interiors may or may not be beige. Nobody knows at the moment and all we have heard till now is hoax. However there is 99% possibility of this feature
6.) VXi top end now will come with front two electric seats

HOW DO I KNOW ALL THIS???

1.) Sales and dealer meeting will start today at 2:00 pm in Bangalore and will run till 8:00 pm for launch to dealers
2.) dealers will get to know details only after 2pm except that they already know of 143 BHP
3.) I will have the updated by 7 or 8 pm and will keep you guys posted...

Autofin are still maintaining that the beast will be launched sometime in Jan 08 along with the 1L car

O.T. Seems of late Hyderabad has become the center of action instead of bangalore. Alas, all this when roads in Hyd are resembling bangalore roads of 2 years back!

140 BHP !!!! Damn - that is Endeavour territory now !!! I man its going to be one whopper of an engine - and then there is the added FE !! 2.2 Litre will give at least overall FE of 12 - 14 at least which is great.

This SUV is getting me all excited now !! I want the Black or offwhite colour. With Nice Fat Alloys !! And a very good ICE Setup - look I have even started planning all this now.

To the hell with my earlier plans of buying a verna or magnum or fabia - THIS IS IT !!!

I am waiting for yr updates @ rajismine

Strange, the Italian 2.2l engine specs are posted here and 103KW conversion comes out to be 139 Bhp, unless TATA tweaked it further for Indian launch.

It is important to know the variants/features and the pricing is also a key factor. Do keep us posted.

Hey no confirmation about Delhi launch as yet. Spoke to Dingra Motors in Gurgaon. Not denying the launch of 2.2 but also not confirming when. Can anyone in Delhi check with their dealer??

Cant wait anymore. Must have this beast right now.

Rajismine - Do check with your contact about the diff between EX & VX. PRICE????? Hope they dont charge too much of a premium?
