Lets see how this pricing pans out. Now LX may cost 7.25 and EX approx 9.2 lakhs.

So there is a band of 2 lakhs for scorpio 2.2l to play with.

Also EX suddenly looks quite expensive. As it is, most of buyers brought LX and since there is no 2.2l LX, base safari will soon be EX costing 9.2 l+. Quite expensive IMO and this should help innova and safari.

LLL

In your last sentence did you mean "should help Innova and Scorpio"?

Cheers

Is betting allowed on TBHP?
If yes, then this thread is a very good candidate for betting about
a) Launch date of the vehicle
b) Color of new safari's interior
b) Location of spare wheel
c) BHP figure of the engine
d) Type of grille
e) Existence of 2.2 in Lx version etc etc

Jokes apart, I myself am pretty excited with all the information that I see over here and waiting eagerly for the launch of the vehicle. You never know what to expect from TATAs stable but I just hope this one really rocks. Keep the the information flowing

The OTR price for EX 4x4 in Karnataka was 10.6L, now it is going to be around 11.75L at least. The road tax jumps once the ex-showroom price crosses 10L. One lakhs extra just for a newer engine, that's not right.

add the proposed 8% cess and OTR will now be 13 L. Too high for a tata.

Lets see how mahindra plays the game with scorpio 2.2 now...

This is the cryptic message I have received today from someone "in the know". I would trust this source. I am just a messenger.
As seen a few pages ago other "Trusted Sources" have mentioned the absolute opposite with regards to the Interiors. (e.g. New Air Con vents, Electric Adjust Front Seats e.t.c.) I guess the truth lies somewhere in the middle.

Thats great.

Any idea when the 160 kicks in? ie, till when we would have the turbo lag?

And you mean that the starting line up will cost 30k than the same version of 3L?

Now who at TBHP will get it first?

Done the calc's as per information with increase of 30K for EX and assuming 50K for VX in pricing of 2.2l for Karnataka/Bangalore pricing.

Model(4x2)____Ex-Showroom _____Net Price (RT+Ins)
LX ___________N/A______________N/A
EX ___________8,50,437/- ________9,68,223/-
VX __________10,70,747/- _______12,40,460/-

Have taken insurance at 3.85% of ex-showroom price and RTO for Karnataka @ 10% for < 10L and 12% for > 10L ex-showroom price. Keep some 10K extra to the net cost for registration/ number plate and the service charge the showroom charges.

It is definitely worth it

Donno when 160 kicks in but with VGT, Turbo lag is already controlled
Yes EX and VX will now be 3L price + 30-35K extra
Final pricing has not been released by TATA yet
But dealers have been given this 30K extra idea

Costing is too high, is it worth it

Corrected: Safari -> Scorpio
HEY DADU. LX is not coming with 2.2 L engine so no price change. EX and VX with be 30-35K costlier then their 3L Counterpart
