Pricing in Chandigarh 80% sure about these

8.75 for EX 4x2
10.75 for VX 4x2

SUV's have not reached the dealerships yet here !!!

Its currently, 8.21 for EX and 10.22 for VX. It seems higher than other sources posted here.

I dont understand what 80% sure means, either you know or you dont, speculation perhaps ??

Points to a late launch, not 25th. No display car on launch date, seems highly improbable.

OT Question - Is Delphi doing the Common Rail for the M&M 2.2 Eagle as well? Or have they gone to Bosch?
They both went to AVL for Engine Design for their 2.2's. If they have a common source for their common rail systems as well, it would be hard to imagine that they would be very different from each other.

they told that new 2.2 ltr dicor will be available on 2nd week of october
they were even claiming that the new 2.2 dicor's FE is 19 kmpl and in city 15kmpl .... is that possible?
and only available in EX and VX models and price will be higher than current

WOW !! 19kpl & 15kpl - Is that not a little too hard to beleive !!!

BTW Good news - I was driving back from Delhi to Agra today & while crossing F'bad I crossed TATA motors - they had a 3 silver / offwhite Safaris coming in - had a brief glance but they were definetely the new Tata Safaris - they were similar to the SPY Pics you all would hv seen.
Very cool looking Fat tyres on these and also funky roof rails I noticed on these !!

They did not have Spare wheels on them - So I am not sure about this.

COuld not take a photo as I was driving and it was crowded like hell.
If any of you work nearby, do have a look !!!

Most dealers give the car for test drive to the Magzines pre launch, and they gauge the FE figures for them. I am sure this months ACI/OD will carry a report on the Safari 2.2

Also dealer quote magazines, hence companies pay a huge sum to mags to remove the best FE ala Logan and if you go to a Mahindra dealer he would say Logan gave 35kmpl

Do check adverts of magazines they write the FE figures then a * and then Source - ACI, OD, etc.

May I quote "years" , but most are referring to one source or the other.

BTW, I havent noticed any launch ads for safari today, so 25th has also become a speculated date.

Unless TATA quitely slips in the 2.2 engine without any promos knowing very well that its nothing but a change of engine, just like introducing another variant.

Just got off the phone with the dealer. He was gushing over the phone telling me how good the Safari 2.2 is.

Here are the few bits of info I could extract in the few minutes:

1. Beige Interiors with wood finish on the Dash for the VX.
2. Tubeless Tyres.
3. Basket/Net to keep stuff in place in the Boot.
4. New Redesigned and "Better Looking" Stepney Cover.
5. Back fold up seats with better cushions.
6. Launch delayed by a few days and the dealer still does not have any stock or Demo/Show car yet.

So the wait continues...

, there are no ads coming up for new Safari. So looks like the actual launch date is a bit far or may be it has something to do with the current inventory as the offers for old safari are getting jacked up.

I thought i saw a post last night where somone saw the new 2.2 Safari's being offloaded at Faridabad. Can someone from that area give the dealer a visit today and revert.
Also the sfari price list on its website has "spacio" added to the list, was this there earlier?

as i said earlier, TATAs are going to mention this very clear now on that the mileage would be definitely 10.5 plus in city and 13 plus on highway
