The test Safari has Coimbatore Registration (temporary), if im not wrong, it may be tuned by Mr. J.Anand from coimbatore, he use to tune tata cars, i have seen Marina before it's launch doing test rounds in Coimbatore with similar temp number plates.

AFAIK, Delphi's only facility in south-india is in Bangalore. All other facilities are in north-india (Haryana, Noida..)

I am planning to go for a test drive the safari dicor over the weekend. Do these guys allow a long drive like around 1-->2 hours

I dont think I quite understand the utility of attracting attention like this on a in-production body with panel protectors. It seems they are wanting to see what people like us are saying here. Otherwise they would just not disguise it, as who's going to understand whats under the hood anyway.

May be the release is imminent? Why on earth would they parade/ test a TN-37 car in Pune otherwise? Tushky, was it a LHD or RHD?

Mr.Bond on here said a month or so ago that these are being exported, but if one asks where to no one seems to know. ACI mentioned that these will be available abroad in January, but they are wrong too.

Let me just say that I wouldn't be surprised if the 2.2L is released very soon in India.

There are RHD 2.2s running around the countryside from as far back as September last year. Most of them were prototypes and test mules.

RHD does not necessarily imply that it's meant for India. So many foreign markets have RHD, notably South Africa where Tata sells almost its entire range.
