based on the first hand experience of the members of the forum
3200 km on the clock and I haven't experienced anything of the sort.
Pedal to the metal (140 kph at ~2300 rpm in 5th for as long as possible) and the FE is 10.8 kpl. Upshifts at 2750 rpm in every gear.

Hi
I am wondering what all changes do the Tata guys do across eg dicor 2.2L launched in SA and the dicor 2.2L that shall be introduced in India. We have been saying on this forums that it is better to buy a tata vehicle may be 6 months down its launch so that all basic niggles get rectified by then. Wont the feedback from foreign markets help Tata to launch a good & refined vehicle right away in India if we are already saying that the time span across the 2 may be around 6 months.

Also do the people on this forum have an idea about the depreciation in the SAFARI cost wrt years of use, what is 3-4 year old safari expected to fetch from the market.

The Dicor is not yet out in the second hand market..so finding out the cost of a used Dicor is out of the question here.. But you will find some used TCIC and depending on the year you can get some good bargains.

a 3-4 year old Safari(TCIC) can be anywhere between 4-6L depending on the model and usage / maintainence / bodyline etc etc..

Looks like I am hard on luck with this Gurgaon dealer. The car didn't reach my office yesterday either. I have written an UGLY email to Tata Motors

info@safaridicor.com). I am not sure whether thats the correct email address though (found it on their website). If anybody knows an alternate email address, please let me know so that I can forward the stinker!

I might as well drive off to a dealer in Delhi, but since I am in no real hurry, I am just waiting for things to work out by themselves.

Cheers guys! Its my love for the car that keeps me cool

If yes that shall be pretty helpful to get an initial feel

On the lighter side (did this only twice and ran out of road with A/C on)
Approx 156+ or was the needle touching 160 @2600RPM in 5th Gear for 2 - 3 KMS
Upshifts at 1800RPM and FE is 11.5 mostly
Idle RPM ~704

How is that possible.. i took my Dicor till Coorg and the highway till Mysore is a beautiful 4 lane and i was flooring the pedal to see what it could give out and all i could touch was a measely 120...
does the pickup increase after the 1st service as my Safari has done only 3500 km and not yet serviced..

Do i need to get anything done for it to reach the magical mark of 140+

it should do that 120 with ease - no need to stand on the pedal.

Who knows? That engine is controlled by teh ECU, with different Rev Limits on each gear - perhaps they're doing something at 5,000....

Godfather
There is nothing in relation to the service to touch atleast 140kmph,
i touched it once around 36-3800km odo on expressway with 4 adults and a/c on for few seconds only though

I advise you to get ur suv checked...( i think maybe.. bad fuel might have clogged the fuel filter or ur catcon might be choked)
However, get it attended ....

I had also written to this email Id, but I got responses like <your email delievery has been deferred>. Hence the email never got delievered. Looks to be a fraud email address. I am surprised that TATA guys are so laidback not to follow up with the potential customers.
On the other hand, someone from CITY FORD in Delhi has been calling me every alternate day to come over and test drive the Ford Fusion
BTW, how is after sales service at TATA, do they treat you well at that time, and how is the overall experience.
