1. This week was the last week of production.
2. When old stock is finished the launch will be done
In Ludhiana the discount has gone from 5K-10K to 20K suddenly, and may go up further.
In Delhi the discount has gone to 50K almost.
This means dealers are aware that as soon as Tata is rid of stocks on factory floor new one will come, and the stock lying at dealer warehouses will be toast.

How many genuine buyers have been holding off buying the beast in anticipation of this launch? Basically who all is in line for booking the 2.2 beast on launch?

What would be things for the first few buyers to watch out for, what all to consider when taking this plunge??

From our previous discussions on this topic given the fact that the engine and transmission are possibly the main things that are bound to change in the new model and also given the fact that the 2.2 has been in production and is being exported for some time now. Do we still foresee major risk in buying the 2.2 on launch?

There is always some risk involved in new launches irrespective of the manufacturer, because the roads are the real test tracks for any new vehicle and brings out any deficiencies, which the manufacturers correct in the next lot.

Although it has been launched in Italy, but that too is relatively very new. Also you dont know how the pricing will look like when the 2.2ltr is launched.

I guess pricing wouldn't be too high, as the present dicors will be no more available, think Tatas would place it in the current price range. Otherwise the numbers may get an hit. Thats just a guess though

Samurai san, don't do the same mistake that you did with your camera.
Wait for the 2.2ltr.

What have I just seen?

Hi All,

Been waiting for the 2.2L so long am afraid I am started to seeing things. This is what I saw parked outside the Racecourse today:

Pearl White Safari.
Oval stickers on the side "16VDOHC" instead of "Dicor".
4X4 stickers on the front door.
No other badges on the back door.
Beige Interiors.

Was this a missed "Kodak Moment" or just a Safari Mod?

Prices will be slightly higher than the 3.0. Now slightly usually means a 30-40K jump, so the LX may come in at 7.4-.7.5 ex showroom delhi.
But its speculation

With this price jump, don't you think they should keep the 3.0 also. Else the numbers may get dip, with the interest rates taking a toll already

Even I came to know that price will be raised by 30-35K at least for LX and this vehicle is going to be a far improved and refined one.

This price rise means I will have to wait one more month after diwali to be able to pay for it :(
