It is pretty much a case of some wise a$$ trying to meet dead lines and making the article in a real hurry.

I have always loved Fiesta for its petrol Engine characteristics which always provides a much better initial pick-up as compared to diesel cars. But Fiesta is way out of the league of 0-100 in 6.1 secs.

Guys, why have we dug up a four year old thread :D??

BTW I was not using any specific timing gauge to measure the time, but I am sure I must have done 0-100 in around 10 seconds or slightly less.

Please confirm how can I measure the exact timings?

If you didn't time your run, why are you sure you did the 0-100 in less than 10 seconds? Seat of the pants feel?

The best way to time your run would be to get hold of a GTech Pro, which accurately measures your 0-60 mph time, and then add about a second (just a guess) to get the 0-100 kph time.

If you want to use a stop watch, you need to take into account the speedo error. You can use a GPS to figure out the speedo reading at a true 100 kph. Then go to a level road, slot the car in first and hold it at launch rpm, and then start the timer when you dump the clutch. Stop the clock when you hit a true 100 kph on the speedo.

Ford Fiesta could never clock that acceleration. Either they were referring to 0-60 kmph and the editor goofed up or they may have been referring to the hot rod Fiesta RS. The RS is however not in India. So yea maybe the editor was smoking something!
