Wow what a work from Tata, a Bolt out of the blue with the Zest 'iness of a young dynamic brand. Now I say bring it on. Really love the design and the best part is the Infotainment system in collaboration with Harmon.

The production version :

Impressive Driver Orientation:
Still, notice some buttons missing on the right side of the steering wheel.

Edit : During the launch, they were also talking about music volume increasing with speed.

Q) What is "Advanced ABS"?, anyone knows if there is any specific advancement in ABS?

Very very impressive, well done Tata Motors

I like the Zest in blue, looks very sporty. Bolt seems to be inspired by Figo and Beat, but the end result is very nice.

Interior is revolutionary for a TATA car.

Zest looks much better than Dzire and Amaze.

Wow, I mean seriously WOW. Good work tata. Way to go. AMT diesel will be a game changer in the industry . Now a serious competition for the CKD overpriced germans. Wait, the pricing not revealed yet. But then tatas have always priced their cars economiclly. Hope the car proves itself niggle free.

Re: Tata Falcon hatchback, compact saloon to debut at 2014 Auto Expo

I am happy with both the vehicles. As mentioned by other members already, BOLT seems to be half way away from the Vista looks. From some angles, it looks absolutely same as Vista, but some angles are fantastic and first-time for a Tata vehicle.

Zest looks damn good from the pics. I just hope these cars drive as good as they look.

I noticed one thing about Bolt. The initial photos show that the ORVMs are manually controlled, whereas the last production photo shared by GrammarNazi shows that they are electrically controlled. Hope they are electrically controlled in the final on-road version.

While the Vista has a 37 litre fuel tank, the Manza always had a 44 litre fuel tank. The Indigo CS has a 42 litre fuel tank.

My guess is these are for different versions - Base, Middle, VFM, Top End.

Re: Tata Falcon hatchback, compact saloon to debut at 2014 Auto Expo

Welcome change from TATA! They have got 2 decent looking vehicles.

The doors from the images look solid while the interior is a refreshing change. It gives a personality to the vehicle. The overall design also is not extreme which means it will be easily accepted across various generations.

Now this is part 1 of the problems addressed. The other areas where hopefully tata improves are

1. Interior fit and finish quality with quality of plastics
2. Uneven panel gaps
3. Poor reliability
4. Taxi segment adopting these new models
5. Both pre and post sales service

Did i see a mention of a diesel automatic coming? Boy o Boy!

Edit: Any news about Airbags/ESP/ABS? I can't see that on the dashboard/horn area. Option of 6 airbags will really be a segment first

Re: Tata Falcon hatchback, compact saloon to debut at 2014 Auto Expo

Compared to the tacky facelifts associated with Indian companies this is a very very well executed job by Tata. What I feared will be a Vista with a new grille has turned out to be one of the sportiest looking hatchbacks in India!!

While Tata's R&D prowess has never been in doubt, I sincerely hope they get everything else right. Turbo-charging their tried and trusted powerplants, an auto box, those interiors etc..Tata have an excellent blue print, now its a matter of execution.

Lets hope history does not repeat itself and Tata has indeed turned a new leaf!!

Yes you have heard it correct, the F-Tronic AMT gearbox was mentioned to be included with the Diesel mill as well as the Revotron engine. If it really comes then it is surely a game changer as no car in the current price segment offer auto gearbox for a diesel mill.

Re: Tata Falcon hatchback, compact saloon to debut at 2014 Auto Expo

Very very impressed by this vehicle.
Now all that's left is Tata to fix its customer service end and make sure the parts are of quality, hoping its not a case of all style no substance.

Big thanks to the late Karl Slym for his contributions.
